She ran her finger seductively around the lip of the cup before licking her finger clean while looking at me with what I’m sure she thought was a sexy glance. The shit freaked me the fuck out.

“I remember.” Not really, but anything to get the crazy train moving.

“I had planned to get you into bed that night. If things had gone to plan I would’ve presented you with a child. A bit premature, but it would’ve been ours.”

“Are you saying that you were planning to pass mine and Zandi’s child off as ours?”

“Actually I was working on getting rid of her. Then you announced your plans to get her pregnant and I had to come up with something else. It was easy too. Just a few dollars in the right hands and I knew down to the second she found out she was pregnant.”

“Who was the one you sent to my house to take her?”

“Why, what does it matter now? You have her back don’t you?” Her face twisted into an ugly mask that I did not recognize.

“Anyway, after I had no luck getting you into bed I had to keep that bitch alive longer than I wanted. Until after we were married then I could spring the idea of adoption on you.”

“So you had it all planned out huh.”

“Yes, and it would’ve worked too if those two hadn’t screwed up and let her get away.” She really is batshit crazy, but that’s not going to save her ass from my wrath.

“Where did you find those two anyway? I wouldn’t think you’d know people like that.”

“I’ve known them for a while. This isn’t the first time they’ve been helpful.”

“Oh yeah? What else have they done?”

“Let’s just say they’ve always been handy to have around. I expect they’re expecting me to get them out of trouble this time too.” She studied her nails which I noticed for the first time were bitten down to almost nothing.

Who was this person? Where’s the well-groomed woman I’d known my whole life? How had she kept that eerie light in her eyes hidden so well for all these years? Or was it that I was just so disinterested I never took the time to really look?

I kept prodding, more so about the abductor than the two who were already sitting in jail. I’d let the cops deal with the nurse at the doctor’s office, but I wanted the asshole who’d taken her from our home. It took a little work but she eventually told me.

Should I be surprised that the guy was her dealer? Or that she was having a sexual relationship with him? “I was gonna stop after we got married, but a girl has needs and you were such a prude.”

Gross! “So he’s the one who made the drug you used on her and me?” She shook her head no.

“His specialty is meth, so plebian don’t you think? No, the drug was my own creation. You do remember my degree in chemistry don’t you?”

I let her talk herself out until she got around to the case against her. “My daddy said not to worry, he has it all under control.” There was nothing but malice in the look she gave me.

“I drove by your place earlier, it didn’t look like there was anyone home. Did my release spook the little lady? She really didn’t think that I was going to be locked away for life because of a little nobody like her did she?”

I kept my hands in my pockets to keep myself from strangling her. That too was too easy for her heinous ass. That smirk she wore said it all. That she really thought she was going to get away with this shit. That she expected her family’s money to save her like it had so many times in the past.

“You never did tell me what brought you here tonight. Did I answer all your questions or was there something else? If not I’d like to get back to bed. I have a very full day tomorrow. Tomorrow’s when I convince the court appointed psychiatrist that I’m not in my right mind.”

“Is that your plan? And what about the two in jail? What do you plan to do about them?”

“I haven’t decided yet, seeing as how they fucked up so royally this last tine. Who knows? Maybe they’d still be of some use in the future. They did grow a sort of fondness for your…. for her.”

Did she just threaten my wife? It didn’t matter, now it was my turn to smirk. “You know, I came here wondering if you really do have a screw loose, but now I see that you’re just pure evil.” I saw the first crack in her façade but I wanted more. I want to totally annihilate this bitch before I destroy her.
