“I know you’re late, but I didn’t think much of it since your cycle is usually irregular when you’re breastfeeding.” His hand clenched on my abdomen. “Do you really think you’re carrying another of my babies, nena?”

“I really, really do.” I nodded again, and his answering smile was blinding.

“Even with all the dirty shit your papá pulled during our football game, I’m glad your family joined us for the holiday.” He gripped my butt cheeks and lifted me until I wrapped my legs around his waist. “Because they can take care of the kids while we celebrate properly in our room, just the two of us.”

By the time our private celebration was over, I would have been pregnant if I wasn’t already.
