My Wicked Heart (Wicked Poison 2) - Page 55

Poetic magic perhaps.

My head drops back, and I can’t help the thoughts that run through my mind.

He is it for me.

August Trouble is literally what makes my world spin. Before everything was in black and white, now it’s in real Technicolor. And I could spin forever with him by my side.

“August.” His name leaves my lips on a plea, and he pulls away as my knees start to buckle and go weak. The waves of pleasure shoot through me, and I have to remember to breathe. Breathe through everything he’s doing to me.

August stands and wipes his mouth before he undoes his trousers and peels them off. Then he’s right there before me, in all his naked perfection.

“We have to be gentle…” he says through gritted teeth, “… and that’s going to be hard when I want you so fucking bad.”

“I’m not breakable,” I tell him, smirking. My hands find his chest and caress his defined muscles. My fingers trail over the body I have missed so much, getting reacquainted with the feel of him.

“No, but you’re hurt. And I never want to bring you any more pain than I already have.” His words punch me right in the chest, then straight into my heart.

“You did what you thought was right.” His rough fingers touch my chin, stroking it before he angles it up and looks me in the eyes. I get lost in his forest green eyes for just a moment, but in reality, it could be an eternity.

“Leaving you never felt right, but my wicked heart told me it was.”

“You’re back now.” I kiss a trail up his chest and throat until my lips meet his and he kisses me back.

August kisses me for all the moments in time he has missed. For the past, that was taken, and for the present, that leads to our future. Then, with greedy hands, I push him back until he drops onto the couch. I straddle his lap, and his hands trail up and down my back, loving me with his touch, claiming me ever so gently.

Those hands could destroy me if they wanted, and I would be helpless to stop them.

“Rich girl,” he moans as I slide down on him.

“Mmmm...” It’s all I can manage, the ability to form words temporarily disabled as my brain fills with nothing but August and pleasure.

“I’m afraid I may never let you go again.” He bites my neck, and I go slow, wanting to feel him inside me. Wanting to make everything last a few seconds longer than it would normally.

Because all we get are moments.

And I want to steal every one.

From this day forward.

“Fuck,” he swears as my hips start grinding faster. I feel him gripping me as he starts to come, and I follow soon after.

My lips find his as my body succumbs to him completely.

Chapter 29

August

"Dad.” I smile down at Winter, and her nose scrunches up. “Dad,” she says again as if testing it on her lips. “I like saying Dad,” she says proudly.

And honestly, I fucking like hearing it.

Actually, I love it.

But I keep my lips shut because that word is not about me.

“Winter, hunny, why don’t you go pack a bag to spend the night at…” Rylee looks at me, her mouth open, not sure what to say.

“Dad’s house,” Winter finishes for her.

“Yes, hunny, Dad’s house.”

Winter runs to her room as Rylee makes a sandwich. She scrapes Vegemite over the bread and then a cheese slice, and I scrunch my nose up at her.

“Please don’t pull that face unless you’ve tried it.” Rylee holds it out to me, and I take a step closer because I can’t seem to help myself.

“I’m not eating that,” I tell her.

“If you want to eat me again, you’ll try it.”

My lip quirks at her words. “When did you get so feisty?” I lean in and take a bite.

Rylee lets me and smiles when I do. I chew and watch her amused eyes as she stares at me. Waiting. The minute I swallow, I open my mouth slightly and screw up my lips. “That was fucking awful. Absolute shit. But how can I say no when tasting that sweet fucking pussy again was on the line?” Rylee’s cheeks flush at my words.

“What’s pussy?” We both turn around, and with wide eyes, we stare at Winter. “Maybe I want to taste it too if Dad likes it.”

Rylee starts to choke on her sandwich, and I have to remember to stop rapidly blinking from the words that just left her mouth.

“Lassy, love, not the other word,” I tell her, trying to cover the mistake with something else, but I fail miserably. Incredibly miserably.

Rylee covers her mouth with her sandwich to hide her grin.

“Mom, can’t you come, too? We could watch movies and eat all the popcorn.”

“Yeah, rich girl, eat all the popcorn.” I smirk at Rylee, and her cheeks flush pink.
