“One of the what?” I ask with another smirk, and I swear I can hear her grinding her teeth.
“Shut it. You asked me a life-altering question mid-coitus. I would have sold you my liver at that point in time.”
Did she just say coitus?
I can’t help the chuckles that ripple through me. “Coitus?”
“I’m going to kick your ass,” she snarls at me before punching me in the chest.
“Ouch,” I say with another one of my charming smirks.
“Yes, it was a moment of weakness! It doesn’t mean we’re fated to the stars or something.”
She stares up at me with those words ringing in my head.
“Bullshit,” I say and stare right back.
“What?”
She glares at me, and I know I’m right, and so does she.
“You had every chance to bail from the moment you met me, you didn’t.”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake!” she snaps at me.
There’s a loud knock on my door followed by Casey yelling, “Can you two shut up? I was supposed to get thirty more minutes of sleep!”
Well fuck, that wasn’t expected.
Both of us stare at each other for a long moment, each lost in our own embarrassment.
“Oh my god!” Bree whispers before she starts to giggle, giggle like a madwoman.
“Fuck!” I start to snicker as I try to hide my partial hard-on from her.
Even arguing with this chick gets me hard. I didn’t even notice how close I got into her personal space before Casey yelled at us.
Looking down at Bree, I tug lightly at her chin so that she looks up at me. “You said yes, no take backs.”
Before she can argue with me, I lean down and kiss those lips of hers that have tormented me. Those plush, silken lips.
Last night I was in dire need of filling that void in my soul, to raise my soul back from the depths of the dark abyss. I know I can’t hinge my recovery on her, but it feels right to make this connection. To fill the empty spaces with her life.
To take hold of her hand and never let go.
My hands gently caress her cheeks before sliding to the back of her head and pulling her deeply into the kiss. The resistance I felt last night was a wall I wasn’t entirely sure would ever come down.
Now it’s gone.
I don’t have the words to describe the emotions she puts in the kiss, but it’s more than anything I’ve ever felt before. Her hands grab at my chest as she molds herself into me, and for a split second I think, fuck the world outside of us.
Reaching down, I pull her shirt up and push my hand under her silky bra. Cupping her generous mound of breast, I give it a light squeeze.
Moaning so quietly I almost miss it, she pushes even harder into me.
“Hey! Who’s cooking the eggs and bacon?” Casey yells. “I don’t think you guys want food poisoning, but I can try.”
Bree pushes my hand out of her shirt and pulls away from me. “Shit!”
