“I feel so lost in you, Jase.”
Resting on his elbows, he laced his fingers in my hair and slowly pushed into me as we both sucked in a breath of air. “Better to be lost together than apart.”
His lips brushed against mine. Each movement in and out of me was heavenly. Jase took his time at first. Kissing me so deeply I was sure we were one.
My eyes pierced his while I demanded, “More.”
With that crooked smile of his, he lifted me and grabbed onto my hips and gave me exactly what I asked for.
It was fast . . . hard . . . and the most wonderful experience of my life. Even better than the first time we were together.
He called out my name as my entire body trembled.
Leaning over me, Jase breathed heavily while I wrapped my arms around him.
“My God, Taylor. That was . . .”
My fingertips grazed lightly across his back. “Magical.”
Lifting his body off of mine, he pierced my eyes with his. “Yes. That’s the only word to use.”
When he pulled out of me, I felt the loss immediately. He quickly got off the bed and headed into the bathroom. When he returned, he gently cleaned me off with a warm washcloth. “We never ate,” he said with a quick kiss on the lips.
“I’ll order a pizza and we can pack up the last of my stuff.”
Jase emerged from my bathroom again and said, “What about all the furniture?”
“It came furnished. I only have to worry about my stuff.”
I could see something on his face. He looked . . . worried. I quickly got up and made my way over to him. “What’s wrong?”
Swallowing hard, he closed his eyes and shook his head. “I know why it felt so fucking amazing.”
With a smile, I felt my face grow hot. “It did feel even better than before.”
His eyes opened and he placed his hand on the side of my face. “Taylor, we didn’t use a condom.”
My face dropped and my chest tightened. “Oh no.”
“You’re not on the pill, are you?”
My hand covered my mouth as my heart dropped. Oh no. What did I do? How could I be so stupid! Quickly dropping it, I shook my head. Stumbling on my words, I replied, “I’m not on the pill right now. I swear I didn’t forget a condom with him. I swear to you!”
Jase frowned and I knew I shouldn’t have brought up Clark, but I didn’t want him to think I was having unprotected sex. “I’m sorry . . . I just don’t want you to think I . . .” Shaking my head, I looked away. My stomach felt sick as a million and one things raced through my mind.
I jumped when he placed his hands on my shoulders and turned me to him.
“I got as caught up in the moment as you did, Taylor. We both forgot, and I swear to you I’ve never had unprotected sex. But I won’t lie and say it didn’t feel good, because it was the most amazing thing ever.”
Pressing my lips together, I fought to hold my smile back. He pulled me to him and buried my face in his chest. “Let’s not worry about it now. There’s nothing we can do about it.”
The thought of being pregnant at twenty-four scared the hell out of me. I knew all of my friends had kids young . . . well almost all of them. But hell, even Lauren was pregnant.
But Jase and I were not ready for a baby. We had to work on us first.
“We have to be more careful from now on, Jase. As much as I would love to have a baby with you . . .”
His face lit up as he smiled. “I really want it to be us for a while. I think it’s important for the two of us to spend time together.”
