Rough (Wolf Ranch 1)

He licked my face again. I continued to stroke him, paying attention to his silky ears. His head leaned in, and I realized it was something he really liked. I couldn’t help but admire his wild beauty. I pressed my face into his neck. He still smelled like Boyd. Strong and masculine. And wild.

I was in awe. “You’re incredible, Boyd. Magnificent.”

He shifted back and pulled me into his arms. “I’m sorry I frightened you. Don’t ever be scared of me or my wolf, Audrey. Our one job in life is to protect you and keep you happy. I promise.”

It felt too good to be true.

Only this time, I believed Boyd. He’d never given me any reason to doubt him, even though I had. I’d been wrong. So very wrong. Now I had forever to make it up to him. To prove I loved him right back.

I nestled into his chest, ran my fingernails through the light fur there. “I’m yours now?”

“What we just did didn’t convince you?” he asked, his thumb brushing over my nipple. “Forever, darlin’. You can’t get rid of me.”

“I won’t want to,” I promised. I was sure of it. Boyd Wolf was perfect and all mine. “I love you, Boyd Wolf.”

“I love you, too, darlin’. Always.”
