“I do believe that was sarcasm, pet.”
“Not at all, Sir.”
“Hmm, you see it turns out I rather like a raven-haired sprite who has more courage in her big toe than most people have in their entire bodies. More heart and definitely more loyalty. Do you know why we’re here? Why I set this scene up?”
“To teach me about submission?”
“A little bit. Mostly it was about breaking down your defenses. And getting you to ask for my help.” He cupped her face between his hands. “I’m going to tell you something I never told any of those subs. That I haven’t said to anyone but family.”
She stared up at him. He smiled. “I love you, Aspen. Took me a while to figure out why I was so possessive of you. Why I didn’t want you out of my sight. How I couldn’t get you out of my mind. But I love you. And I love those boys. The three of you are mine. You have been since the moment you moved in. I’m not going anywhere.”
Tears dripped down her face and she felt her nose run. Gross. He stood and moved away. When he returned, he held a tissue up to her nose. “Blow.”
She stared at him incredulously. But he didn’t move. She blew her nose into the tissue even though she was horribly embarrassed. He held a water bottle to her lips and she took a few sips.
“You really love me?” she asked, needing the affirmation.
“I do. And I’m not going anywhere. No matter what. But if you hold things back it’s only going to hurt us. Or it will boil up until you snap and call me a monster.”
She squirmed. “Sorry about that, Sir.”
“If it happens again you’ll go without orgasms for a week.”
She gasped. “I’d rather have a spanking.”
“I know. I don’t want to take over your life, but I do want to be there to support you. Help you. Guide you.”
“Thank you, Sir. I want that too. I couldn’t imagine my life without you in it. I think I’ve loved you since that night you helped me with Caleb.”
He smiled and his face lit up with his happiness.
He leaned down and lightly kissed her. “Now, we can stop or we can continue.”
“You’re giving me a choice?”
“You know you always have a choice.”
She did. And right now, her choices were to give up without truly giving this a go or be brave enough to try.
“I want to keep going.”
He ran his thumb over her lips. “My brave girl. You’re sure?”
“Yes.”
“You’re not saying that just because you don’t want to disappoint me?”
She shook her head. “No, I’m not doing this for you. I’m doing it for me. I want to continue.” She took a deep breath. “But first, can I sit up, Sir? My legs are hurting.”
His smile was worth what it took her to do this. She could keep going. She would.
He loved her. She could do anything.
“Can I have something to eat, please, Sir?”
She was kneeling on the floor between his legs, her face resting on his thigh. The need to undo his jeans and order her to take him into her mouth was overwhelming. But this was about her, not him. He had to put her needs first. He wanted her to know he was there for her. No matter what.
“Certainly, sprite,” he said warmly. “What would you like?”
