Lucky Ride (Men of Valor MC) - Page 7

“Oh, thank you.” Clover smiles at me briefly before tucking them back in her purse, returning her focus back to the forms in front of her. I have nothing that will keep my attention when she’s sitting so close, so I ignore common sense and stare absently at my blotter on the desk, picturing Clover with her pussy on display as I devour her sweet heat, juices dripping onto the leather surface. I swipe my tongue over my lips, wondering if her plump lower lips are just as smooth as I imagine.

“When does my shift start?” she asks, jolting me out of visions of licking her sticky sweetness.

“Six a.m.,” I grunt with my eyes darting toward hers. Clover extends her arm with the clipboard in her hand. I take it and groan. “That’s it. I’ll look it over, and if I have any questions, I’ll give you a call.”

“Thank you. I’ll be here at six.” She stands and takes her coat off the rack. When she slides her arm into her coat, she stops. “Oh, your shirt.” She looks down and then up at me with a sheepish smile.

“Keep it.”

“What about my uniform?” she asks, looking adorable as hell as she connects the zipper and yanks it up. A uniform? The ones we have show too much of her tits. They’re V-neck and fairly generic with a rooster logo over the left breast like most service places have.

“We’ll work on it. Do you have a black tank top? One that doesn’t show your cleavage?” I practically bite out. I don’t want her tits on display.

“Yes. I believe so.”

“Call me if you have questions.” I write down my number and hand it to her. Our fingers touch again, and I clench my teeth. “Have a good day, Ms. Heart.”

“Thank you again, si—Logan.” She rushes out, and I wish my dumb ass had found a way to keep her here, but I know she must be tired. She didn’t slack a bit today, and we were extra busy during the lunch rush.

Reading over her employment forms, I noticed that she has a degree in finance. A thought comes into my head. Perhaps she can do my paperwork for the office; that way, I get out of doing it, and she’s away from all those guys who enjoy her smiles.

I leave around four-thirty and check on my dogs, taking them out for a walk after feeding them their dinner, and then I head back to the diner at six. The dinner rush starts, and I can’t wait for tomorrow to come. I usually call it a night on Wednesdays at four, but we’re really busy tonight and I’m short one of the busboys. Hiring teens can make it harder because some of them would rather party than earn money to party with.

When I finally leave at eight, I walk out with the cook and Sharon, my other waitress. We make sure she gets to her car fine before Dane and I head to our vehicles. I brought my truck with me because I have plans for the night, and that’s to sit outside Cara’s apartment looking out for trouble—or so that’s what I tell myself. In reality, I know I’m a sick puppy, watching my woman’s window, hoping to steal a glance at her even just for a minute.

It’s hours later when her cousin comes home, and then I feel secure enough to leave her for the night. I should get some sleep so I’m ready to see her in the morning. When I get home, the dogs are excited to see me. “Come on, buddies. Soon we’ll have a mommy for you.”

They bark and wag their tails, nearly as giddy as me at the idea of having my lucky Clover. She’s mine, even if she doesn’t know it yet. I want her at my side for the rest of my days. I knew it the second she walked out of my office, but by the end of the night, I know I’ll have to win her over.

I leave the diner in pure awe. Today has been one hell of a rollercoaster morning. Meeting Logan has done something to me that both scares and thrills me. My body’s alive in a way that it’s never been before. Lust rings my little bell, and I want to cry out and answer its chime. I itch to run my fingers between my legs as they rub together on the walk back to Cara’s apartment.

It’s the middle of March, and it’s cold out. I bundle up in my coat and tuck the paperwork that Logan gave me into my purse. It’s not the best place for it, but I really don’t have a choice. I have to get it turned in by morning. I start walking to Cara’s apartment, which is nearly a mile from the diner because she drove me in her car and then hadn’t come to pick me up. Not that I really expected that anyway. I pass several people on the street. Of course, I don’t recognize them because I’m so new to town. I literally arrived last night.
