The topic of discussion was Ron,

on a rant. “How come all the men

in your life have been losers?” I asked.

She barely reacted to the word

“loser.” I could never have

a relationship with someone

who didn’t understand addiction.

Nice phrasing. Translation:

She could never be with a guy

who wasn’t an addict himself.

No wonder she can’t stay clean.

Thinking about Mom. I have so

The door opens and a senior-

citizen-type hostess chirps,

Not sure you could call us a party.
