Dangerous Rock (Dangerous Noise 3)

I nod to him.
His jaw drops. He forces himself to step out of the elevator. Then he turns and watches the doors close. Well, he watches me. Not that I'm doing anything other than standing here.
Down to two. They're both suits. They're both apathetic to me. They're both getting off on seven.
They snicker to each other, no doubt mocking the intern, then they turn to me with apologetic glances.
"Some people." The woman shakes her head. "It's been a while, Mr. Young. How are you?"
She seems familiar, but I don't have any interest in small talk today.
I offer her a hello nod. "I'm about to find my wife and fuck her in the conference room. I'm fantastic."
She smiles and turns to her fellow suit. "What did I tell you about Alessandra?"
"She speaks very highly of Ms. Chase," the guy suit says.
"Ms. Chase is fucking amazing," I say.
"Yes, there's a lot of talk of offering her a position in—"
The lady suit clears her throat. "We shouldn't tell her husband that."
The guy nods. "Always nice to see you, Mr. Young."
I nod back.
Finally, the elevator stops on their floor. They get off. And from the
way they're looking at each other, they're probably about to get off again.
None of my concern.
But hearing them gush over Bella…
Fuck. Everyone else knows she's amazing.
It makes me warm all over.
It's been six months now. Bella started working as Alessandra's assistant just after we got back from our honeymoon. I knew Bella would be amazing, but I wasn't sure if she'd love the job. After all, music industry assistant is a far cry from lawyer to be.
It's not the status she expected for herself.
Or the money.
Or the crowd.
It's a different kind of work.
But she's great at it.
And she loves it.
The elevator stops on the ninth floor. I check my phone again. There's that same teasing text from Alessandra.
And that same picture message from Bella: a pair of crotchless panties and a quarter cup bra in black lace. Tragically, the lingerie is laid out on our bed instead of on her body.
But that only gives my imagination more room to grow.
