Blind Date (A Why Choose Romance) - Page 62

“I’d like to get out of this before I lose my knees completely. I don’t think it’s rude to ask to be able to play ball with my future children.” Was the constant response Ethan fed to the journalists and one that the others so whole-heartedly agreed with.

Lewis already iced his knees once a day, even during the off-season. And other little tricks to keep themselves going circulated among the guys..

I’d support them emotionally, no matter what they faced. They were there for me, and it was fairly simple for me to do the same.

Financially, a family of five working adults, and with the money they brought in, we were already set up for life.

“What are you doing with that? That doesn’t go there? Don’t you even understand how to build a bar?”

My dad stormed off to sort out the builders, leaving the rest of us alone.

They would be getting out of the football game soon enough. And this bar would be their future. I guess Dad had rubbed off on them. They liked the idea of growing old and still talking football with their fans and friends. Add the know-how from Dad and me, and they wouldn’t be destined to fail in the future like so many side projects.

Of course, there would be other projects. Tyler still had his Hollywood ambitions and his agent; his bad-boy persona only strengthened as time went by. The rumors about our relationship only seemed to help rather than hinder it. It helped ensure the four guys were an enigma to be puzzled at by fans and admirers.

Maybe at some point, we’d reveal our relationship to the world and confirm all when we were ready to make some waves.

“Well then, with the bar well underway, how do you feel about getting to build something else?” Ethan said, wrapping his hand around my hips.

“What are you implying, my dear Ethan?”

“He means building our family,” Jake said with a smile.

Lewis smiled wider. “He means all of us fucking you. Hard and fast and with no protection.”

I looked back at Lewis, shaking my head.

“Hey, I just like to be clear about it.”

“Besides, maybe you’ve already gotten it done. Maybe I’m good and knocked up already.”

I wasn’t sure how I wanted to tell them. It definitely wasn’t like this.

It was the last hurdle I worried about. They all said such things for sure, but would they be like that when it came to a child? In our society, it took some serious self-confidence to raise a child that wasn’t your own.

Could I trust them to have such confidence?

I could.

I did.

They would be there for me in the roughest times, as men, as fathers, and as husbands.

“You’re pregnant?” Tyler said, eyes wide.

I nodded. “I got the news a few days ago. Just waiting for the right time to tell you.”

“And this is the right time?”

“It felt natural...?”

“Makes sense to me,” Tyler said, shrugging.

“Does it make sense to you?” Lewis raised an eyebrow.

“Just drop it on us when you realize that we’re fully behind you, and we want it too?”

“And what about identifying the biological father, because I have to admit, I don’t know who that is?”

“It doesn’t matter, does it? We’re all in this together; that won’t change. We’re all going to be the fathers. Admittedly, it may get confusing when the kid is at school and says he has four dads at home, and people assume we’re a gay foursome thing.”

The sudden eloquence from Tyler surprised me, as well as the rest of the boys.

It didn’t last. He added, “It doesn’t bother me what they think. I’ve seen far too much close-up dick in action over the last six years, and not once have I wanted to touch any of you dudes.”

They were truly the best and most selfless men I ever knew.

There must have been a smile on my face a mile wide.

Tyler responded by suddenly sweeping me off my feet and carrying me to my car.

“Huh, what?” I said, surprised by it.

“Just because you’re good and knocked up doesn’t mean we can’t pretend you’re not and run the train on you again.”

“I think you’re looking for an excuse to fuck me,” I laughed. “Not that I’m complaining. You don’t need an excuse.”

The rest of them rushed along behind me, so very happy to follow suit in Tyler’s plans.

“So it’s decided. Home. Fuck our girl a bunch of times, make dinner, then probably do it all over again.”

“Perhaps look at baby stuff and talk about names over dinner?” Lewis ventured. “Lewis is a good name for a boy, Louise for a girl. Think about that.”

Jake slapped him on the arm. “We won’t.”

It was the most wonderful relationship to be in. To say I was lucky would be the biggest understatement. I couldn’t think of a better way to put it.
