“I was just stating my intentions,” he chokes out, his face twisting into a focused expression.

bsp; His intentions? He had better not propose to me today, of all days, or I will have to kill him. I ignore the thought, allowing the passion to consume me, as Jamie fulfills all my desires.

With only a few minutes to spare, Jamie pulls out of me, our juices dripping down my thigh. I can barely function, my legs shaking from all the pounding Jamie did between them. Our limo driver buzzes our apartment, the sound of the bell ringing through the bedroom.

We compose ourselves, my hair now a tangled mess, despite doing my best to look as though I had made an effort for Coach’s big day. Jamie pulls up his pants and runs toward the door, leaving me a few minutes to push down my dress and spray my hair with anti-frizz. I can only hope what’s left of the curls will stay put long enough to snap a few pictures.

As the escort of the man-of-honor, Jamie has assured me that I will be with him at all times, hogging up space in the wedding album. In six short months, I’d never expected to fall in love with Jamie and find myself planning our life together. I’m glad that Jamie and I are on the same page, even if our plans are moving faster than normal.

Walking into the living room with a smile, I lock onto Jamie, his eyes full of happiness, although the sex glaze is still there. The driver and I exchange pleasantries, before opening the front door to return to his car.

Jamie holds out his palm to me, and I place my hand in his, giving him a squeeze. “I’m so glad we made it this far,” he says, his tone soft and sincere. “And I’m serious about marrying you. I want to do it the right way. I want to meet your dad, get to know him, share my bed with you, and then, when the time comes, I will get down on one knee and ask you to be my wife.”

“You want to meet my dad,” I croak, my eyes filling with tears. “To ask him to marry me?” Reaching up to run my hand through his hair, I smile so wide the muscles in my face hurt. “You really are perfect. In every way. I love you so much. My dad will love you just as much as I do.”

“I love you, too, baby.” He brings my hand up to his mouth and plants a kiss on my skin. “I wish your dad wasn’t so busy. We should have met by now.”

“Well, you know I don’t let just any old guy meet my dad. For all I’d known, you were dating me just to get to him.” I joke about the last part.

“We should drive up to Canada now that your dad is back home for the summer. It could be fun to make a trip out of it and take all the scenic routes. Plus, I’d like to meet your mom, too.”

Overwhelmed by emotions, I wipe the corner of my eye with my thumb. “My dad will like the fact that you’re old fashioned because he’s the same way. And my mom will love you, too. It’s impossible not to adore you.”

Jamie grins, not needing words to communicate. As his lips brush against mine, he pulls me closer, slipping his tongue into my mouth. With one hand, he rakes his fingers through my hair, deepening the kiss, and with the other, he pulls me closer, gripping my ass over thin fabric of my dress.

My entire body sets on fire from the brush of heat his kiss leaves behind as he pulls back from me. His eyes burn a hole through me, our bond so strong I can already read his mind before he speaks. This is what it feels like to be in love. True love that cuts through me.

Before Jamie, I thought I’d never find this connection with another person. I was always alone and afraid, too worried about stepping out from behind my father’s shadow. Because of this man, I am doing just that, about to help Jamie take on the tech world. We’re in this together, partners in both business and life.

Chapter 18

Jameson

Charlie’s wedding is no joke the event of the year. Every player from leagues around the world is inside the Wells Fargo Center along with their dates. Despite choosing such a big venue for the reception, Charlie had insisted on getting married in a church. After the priest pronounced Charlie and Alex man and wife, we hopped back into the limo, stopping at a few different places along the way.

The photographer snapped a few pictures of us at Love Park and on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Lastly, we went to Dilworth Park, a large, open space with easy access to public transportation that runs along the west side of City Hall. It’s Charlie’s favorite place in the city. Before I had gotten so busy with work, I met her there once a month for lunch. It was always our thing.

Today was the first time in months that we had the chance to hang out at our favorite meeting place. Dilworth Park was also the place where Alex had skated onto the ice, accidentally exposing their relationship to the world. I remember thinking back then that he was the biggest asshole I’d ever met. And today I was the one who gave him his pep talk before I walked Charlie down the aisle.

I tried not to get too emotional as I held onto Charlie for dear life, hoping she wouldn’t trip and that I wouldn’t be the cause of it. Luckily, we made it to the altar without any casualties. I stood at her side, as she traded bizarre vows with Alex, which wasn’t all that much of a surprise. I’m happy the stressful part is over. Charlie can be herself and stop worrying about everything. She had me just as worked up over something happening.

As the man-of-honor, I did my best to make her day perfect. And by the looks of it, Regan pulled off the sports wedding of the year. Strings of white lights and beads are draped from one side of the ceiling to the other, which is a massive feat, considering the size of this place.

With the event center decked out in the finest crystal, high-end champagne, and food fit for a king, I am beyond impressed with Regan’s ability to throw one hell of a party. Originally, Charlie had wanted the reception on the ice. Instead, she settled for the basketball court the Sixers play on in season because of liability issues. Even I was wondering how we were going to have a wedding on ice without someone getting drunk and busting their head open.

Clinging to my side, Regan squeezes my arm tight, as we make our way to the dance floor. She looks gorgeous in the red bridesmaid dress Charlie had picked out for the girls. With only thin straps holding it in place, her breasts spill out from the silky material. I couldn’t get enough of Regan before we left the house. And I want her again.

I’m so happy to have Regan back in my life and living in my apartment that we plan to make our home for the next few years. We talked about the need to stay in Philly for the new company, but when it’s our time to start a family, neither of us want to raise a child in the city. There are so many changes happening for us all at once. All good changes, though.

Taking our places on the dance floor with the rest of the bridal party, I clutch Regan’s waist, pulling her toward me. She slips her arms around my neck with a smile.

“You did an amazing job with this place,” I say, whispering the words against her lips.

“I’m glad you think so.” Regan smiles before taking my bottom lip in her mouth.

Our kiss only lasts for a few seconds, the heat between us so intense that I have to peel myself away from her to come up for air. “I don’t think I can wait until we get home to have you again.”
