Cal didn’t reply but continued to stroke her breast, toying with the nipple as it peaked under his touch.
“I mean, how can a girl not enjoy having this -- two gorgeous men, lots of rampant sex. I couldn’t be happier.”
Cal smiled. “Good.”
“I couldn’t be happier, too,” Jason declared sleepily.
“Well, you’ve had it all, haven’t you?” She laughed gently. She couldn’t resist. “The fucker and fuckee. Who could ask for more?”
“Yup, life’s good. I can’t deny it; I won’t turn down a good shag.” He rolled onto his back, yawning heavily. “Cal’s got something else on his mind, though,” he added in a mock sinister tone.
She felt Cal shift beside her. He looked beyond her at Jason with a frown.
She reached out to stroke Cal’s face, her fingers tweaking his goatee. “He has?” Her curiosity about and affection for this deeply enigmatic lover of hers was growing deeper by the day.
“Yeah.” Jason lifted his head from the pillow. “Cal’s always focused on something just outside of his reach.”
“What the fuck are you on about?” Cal demanded.
“It’s all done for the sake of his art, you see, all this rampant sex. He has a higher purpose in life, not like us lesser mortals. He’s seeking the truth, the true essence of ...” He waved in his hand in the air expressively. “... something elusive.”
“Jason, shut up and go to sleep.” Cal’s expression relaxed.
Jason was taking the piss, but there was a germ of truth in there, as well as a lingering question. Cal did seem to be hunting for something, and yet he was so elusive himself. Why? What was it about him that fascinated her so much, and why had he begun to fill her every thought?
Cal was drinking her in, and she winked at him. She wanted him to kiss her, so she ran her tongue along her lip, inviting him closer. He bent his head to touch her mouth, opening her up to a gentle, inquisitive kiss, his hands still stroking her. Jason was warm against her back. Cal was eking out her every moment of afterglow with his intimate caresses and kisses. Georgie truly was in heaven.
Chapter Four
“Come in,” Georgie called out when she heard the knock at her door. “Give me two minutes and I’m ready.” She turned back to the mirror.
The two men walked into her space, and she glanced at them in the mirror, smiling. Jason looked chilled in faded blue jeans and a tight black T-shirt that showed off his muscular chest to perfection. He had a jacket trailing from his fingertips over one shoulder. Cal wore an open-necked white shirt in silk beneath a soft black leather jacket. His hands rested easily in loose-fitting trouse
rs, and his hair was sleeked back into a ponytail, giving him a sharp, inquisitive look.
They were going to see Jason play at Jezebels, an alternative dance club in Camden that occasionally held live performances. While she finished getting ready, Jason hummed along with the music she had playing and danced back and forth across the tiny room, following its seductive rhythms.
“What do you think?” She slid a suede choker across her throat. She wanted something to set off her velvet mini dress and the long snakeskin boots she wore, one of her most treasured possessions. Jason went over to the curtain that hung over her clothes. “Let me choose something.”
Georgie smiled and dropped the choker on the bed. She bent to tighten her boots. As she stood up, smoothing her stocking up her legs as she went, she glanced at Cal and saw that he was looking down at the boots with interest. Jason emerged from the velvet curtain with an electric-blue feather boa in his hand.
“Oh, yes, this is perfect. Wear this.”
He came over to her, chuckling when the CD player jumped and skipped to an up-tempo samba track. He proceeded to arrange the feathers around her neck. When he saw her delighted smile, a glint appeared in his eye and he rode the feathers back and forth across her throat, leaning close to her and dancing his hips against hers to the rhythm of the song. “Mm ... perhaps if we’d put the feathers on before the dress, we would never go out.”
Georgie felt a dense heat gathering in her core. His instinctive sensuality and his awareness of the touches she enjoyed were so precise. She wondered if he was a mind reader, or if her signals were so obvious. She was in bliss, savoring every moment of this voyage of discovery, this idyll. In fact, she couldn’t imagine anything intruding on it.
“Jason ... your gig ...” Cal interjected when he saw the two of them begin to sway, their bodies following the rhythm of the song together.
“Yes, yes.” Jason gave Georgie’s cheek a gentle kiss and threw the boa over her shoulder before turning toward the door.
* * * * *
Jezebels had the kind of debauched atmosphere that was sheer kink. Georgie loved it. Dance music chugged out through the crowded hallway, beckoning them deeper into the interior. Everyone dressed distinctly in an urge to outshine one another. Club wear mingled with leather and bondage, chic with gutter trash, cyber, and fetish gear. The place was a wonderful menagerie; nothing seemed out of place.
They moved through the main part of the venue and into the smaller performance room, the jazz suite. It was a slightly more discreet version of the other room, with a long bar and tables lit by candlelight that reflected in the mirrored walls that surrounded them. When he saw Jason, a bouncer ushered them over to a reserved table near the small stage. Jason smiled his acknowledgment, a little more subdued now in his role as the serious musician. When they sat down, Cal selected them each a cocktail from the house menu.
Georgie looked at Cal over the top of her tall glass. He looked charming, and yet that dark undercurrent was always hovering there, keeping her curiosity about him on edge. Catching her glance, he smiled and lifted her fingertips to his lips. When Jason noticed, he laughed and took her other hand to his mouth. Each touch was so intimate, yet so different. Onlookers glanced over the three of them with open curiosity.
