My Fireman's Secret Baby - Page 17

“Relax, let me help you,” I say after I’m a little calmer. I find her clothes halfway under the bed, pull them out and hand them to her. “Here you go,” I say in a calming tone.

“Thank you. I’ll be right out.”

Mylah goes into the bathroom to get dressed. I wait politely in the hallway for her. Once she is dressed, she walks out of the room. We give each other awkward little smiles then head to the kitchen together.

The food is already on the table. I quickly sit down, trying to keep the bulge in my pants out of sight. Thankfully Mylah doesn’t notice this peculiar action. She sits down quietly and looks at all the food.

I can’t think about eating right now. I’m so turned on by her I need a few minutes to calm down. The sight of her naked body is still fresh in my mind.

She starts sipping her coffee and eating. I still haven’t said anything to her. I can’t let the mood get awkward between us. In between bites of food, I search for something to say.

“So, about rebuilding your house,” I start. Mylah looks up from the eggs with wide eyes. I push my food around on my plate. “I have been thinking a lot about it the past few days. Trying to figure out ways to make your business better.” She looks at me over her cup of coffee. I try not to be taken in by the beauty of her eyes and face. “I think I can get the best materials. This will come in handy after the place is built. This will help it fit in better in that area.”

“You really have given this a lot of thought,” Mylah comments softly.

“Yes! I have a lot of ideas for floorplans. I want to give you a lot of room to work—” I try to continue talking, but she interrupts me.

“I’m sorry, but I need to say something.” I stop eating. She sets her coffee cup down but won’t meet my gaze. When she speaks again, her demeanor is shy and hesitant. “This is all such a wonderful idea, but I can’t go through with this. I don’t have the money to pay for the materials and all the construction and things.”

I’m about to speak, but she continues talking. “And I can’t take your money, Kyst. I really do appreciate all that you have done for me already. No one has ever been this kind to me before. But maybe I should leave before it gets out of hand.”

I grab her hand and hold it gently. Slowly she meets my gaze. “Mylah, this is something I want to do. I want to help. Please let me. This is about more than the business. Let’s make it something great to help the animals,” I suggest. She looks reluctant. Before she has a chance to turn me down, I suggest, “Why not make me a silent partner in your business?”

She gives me an odd look as she considers this.

“This way, you’ll feel better. It’s not like taking charity. I can be a part of the business and contribute to it. Neither one of us will feel guilty,” I explain, hoping this suggestion will work.

Mylah slowly pulls her hand away as she thinks. I hear her sigh softly. “All right. I guess that will work,” she admits reluctantly. I can still see the hesitation on her face, but I’m glad she accepted my suggestion.

“Great! I can’t wait to get started,” I say happily. We go back to eating our breakfast in silence.

Chapter Twelve - Mylah

After Breakfast is over, Kyst and I go to our separate rooms. I lie back on the bed and stare up at the ceiling. I’m not quite overwhelmed, but I have definitely never experienced feelings like these before. I feel loved, cared for, and safe here with him. Kyst has been nothing but kind to me since we first met. It’s a beautiful feeling, but also very new to me. No one has ever shown me this much affection before, not even my parents.

I sit up on the bed and look around the room. I already know that I like it here. It’s not about the physical aspects. It’s about the environment here that Kyst has created with his caring and kindness. It’s also about how safe I feel with Kyst. The help he wants to offer my business and me is mind-blowing. No one has ever done that before. It’s nice not to feel alone in the world for once.

I swing my feet in the air as I think about this. Thinking about feeling safe with Kyst leads me to think about the first time he held me, and I cried. I smile as I recall how strong and secure his arms felt as they wrapped around me. His muscular arms, attached to that gorgeous body. The way his eyes are both calm and serious at the same time. The more I think about him, I realize that I am ready. He is the one for me. I definitely want to lose my virginity to him. I couldn’t picture anyone more perfect.
