“Like Red,” Sig muttered loud enough for Rook to hear.

“If they ain’t valuin’ their women like we do our ol’ ladies, then takin’ some of their breeders ain’t gonna do us any good,” Shade said in his slow and careful way of speaking. “Kids gotta be worth more to them.”

“Don’t like the idea of takin’ any of their kids. That’s a hard line for me to cross. Most likely for any of us to cross,” Judge said, getting a few murmurs of agreement. “Bad enough we had to use a few as shields when we rescued Dyna, but we didn’t take ‘em off the mountain and we had no plans to hurt them.”

“We might not fuckin’ like it but we gotta consider it,” Trip said next. “Not sure what else we can take of theirs to get them down the mountain.”

“You could go try to repo one of their damn cages, prez,” Deacon yelled out, causing a few chuckles.

“Yeah, they sure didn’t like that,” Trip said with a grin. That grin quickly faded away. “Another option is we could just wait on them to make the first move. Wait for them to do whatever they’re currently plannin’. Since we’re aware it’s comin’, all we gotta do is prepare for it and get the prospects to continue to watch the mountain in the meantime. When those assholes start to move, we put our counter move into play.”

Trip was talking like the Marine he was. No doubt that experience helped him be a good leader.

“Will that give us enough time to get our women and kids to Mansfield? To get all of us set up and ready? To actually be prepared so we ain’t caught with our fuckin’ dicks spinnin’ in the wind?” Cage asked.

Trip flipped his ball cap up and off his head. He raked his fingers through the longer hair on the top, then yanked the hat back on. “It could if we get that gun stash here on the property. Make sure we got more than enough ammo. Make sure we got a solid plan in place first. We’d all have assigned positions for when it goes down. Figure out how, once they put their filthy feet on the farm, we can draw them farther onto the property and maybe even funnel them to a location where we’re all waitin’.”

Judge mindlessly stroked Jury’s ears. His dog now leaned against the man’s leg with her eyes closed in what looked like ecstasy at the attention. “Maybe. Couldn’t hurt for the executive committee to strategize, create that solid plan. Get the guns here. Maybe have our positions set ahead of time. But that also means we gotta give our women the heads up. They can’t balk when we give the order for them to gather themselves and the kids and move. That means no arguin’ from any of them. We don’t got time for that shit. Could be life or death.”

“No argument? Have you met them? That even possible with our women?”

Judge glanced at Deacon, not bothering to answer his rhetorical questions. Instead, he told his cousin, “Probably best if you stay in your place for now, while Reese stays at hers. This way she’s there and ready since she’s the most argumentative. And also, you’re here and ready instead of twenty minutes away in Mansfield.”

Deacon’s lips pressed thin.

“You can live without pussy for a coupla weeks,” Judge barked at him. “‘Specially if you wanna keep that pussy safe.”

“Could you live without pussy for a coupla weeks?” Deke shot back at his much larger cousin. “And we don’t even know how long it’ll be before they make their move. What if it’s months?”

“Doubt it’s gonna be months,” Shade said softly. “Knew it was gonna happen. They just needed to bring in their reinforcements. Now they’re here, why would they wait and risk losin’ any more of their men?”

“I agree,” Trip said. “Shade, you, Rook and E retrieve whatever guns you snagged from up the mountain and move them here to the farm into an easily accessible location. But not where Daisy or Jude, or even the sweet butts, are gonna come across them. Want that done tonight, you got me?”

“Yeah,” came from the three of them.

Trip continued, “Once we’re done with them, they need to be destroyed. Don’t want that shit on this property. Don’t need the ATF up our fuckin’ asses. But for now? We need them close. We need to be prepared. And like I said earlier, we need to stay vigilant. You see somethin’, you report back to one of us. Don’t care how fuckin’ unimportant you might think it is. Let us worry about whether or not it’s a threat.”

“Need everyone to stick close,” Judge added. “And that means every-fuckin-one. Includin’ you, Deke. Probably best if Reilly stays with Reese right now, too.”
