SEAL Baby Daddy

It was the first time I had ever seen an ultrasound. And I got to share the experience with my wife and daughter. Not only that, but it was proof that we were going to have another child just months from now.
“That’s the head right there,” the nurse explained to Ava. “And there are her little legs.”
“It looks like a peanut!” Ava said, giggling.
“Her?” Harper asked sharply.
“Her,” the technician confirmed, smiling at us. “It looks like you’re about fourteen weeks pregnant, with a little baby girl.”
“I knew it, I knew it!” Ava said in a singsong voice. She started skipping around the room, doing a victory dance.
I was still staring at the tiny image on the screen. A little baby girl. Harper and I were going to have a little baby girl.
I glanced over at Ava. Another baby girl, I corrected mentally.
“What do you think?” Harper asked, pulling me close to her. “Two little girls?”
“I think that as soon as that one’s out of you, we’d better start working on a third one,” I said mock seriously. “If we don’t make a boy, I am going to be woefully outnumbered in the house.”
Harper laughed. “One thing at a time,” she said. But her eyes glittered, and I could tell that she enjoyed the prospect of our growing family just as much as I did.
