Mine.

My mate.

Ransom palmed my ass, gripping it as I arched into his face. He slipped his tongue inside me, winding me up until I could barely breathe and then he sucked my clit into his mouth and I saw stars.

“Ransom!” His name left my lips as I tumbled over that beautiful edge of release, my body trembling with a thousand waves of heated sparks.

He grinned up at me, shifting my leg gently off his shoulder and back on the floor. He stood, slowly, purposely grazing his body over my too-sensitive flesh, and licked his lips as he gazed down at me.

“You’re delicious,” he said, and a wave of anticipation raced over me. “I could you eat you all night.”

Something like a whimper tumbled from my lips. “If you don’t fuck me, mate, I may lose my mind.”

His pupils dilated, the claiming word rocketing over him as his muscles bunched beneath his skin. He hefted me up until I had to lock my ankles around his hips, and he slammed into me, swallowing my moans with his mouth, kissing me breathless, both my taste and his combining to drive me insane. He thrust upward, his hard cock sining into the hilt over and over again as he fucked me senseless against that wall.

Ransom filled me with a spiraling heat that coiled around my soul and sparked.

Each rough thrust a promise, each teasing stroke a plea, each kiss a silent I love you.

I fell over and over again, gripping him like my life depended on it as he wrung every ounce of pleasure from my body I possessed. And when I thought I had nothing left—no more breath or pleasure or thought—he sank his fangs into that spot just above my collarbone. Sucked the puncture wounds with such a sensual grace, such a claiming dominance, that I shattered into a million tiny pieces of brilliant light. I came so hard and clenched him so tight he found his release right along with me.

But he didn’t drop me. No, he held me against that wall and drank from me.

And me from him.

And we were both content to do just that for the rest of forever.

Ransom

We were finally on our way home.

It had only taken two days for the Hunters to feel strong enough for traveling, and they’d spent the time watching the news and consuming media. Their adaptability and speed with which they picked up on the changes in language astounded even Benedict, who currently sat next to Ajax on our private jet, talking about the history of the United States.

“How are they doing?” Olivia asked as we stood in the aisle, facing back to where the Hunters consumed the back half of the jet, stretching out amid the couches and seats that had been arranged in a conversation area.

“No one screamed witchcraft when we took off, so I’m going to say relatively well.” I palmed her waist and drew her to my side. Even a few inches away felt like too much distance between us.

“They seem….” She shook her head, her gaze jumping from Hunter to Hunter.

“Like they’ve been in this century far longer than they really have?” I guessed, marveling at the ease with which Zachariah swirled the ice in his glass.

“Exactly.” She tensed slightly, her fingers drumming along my spine. “I just can’t get over how easy it seems. Even Saint isn’t as menacing—”

The vampire snapped his gaze toward us, his dark eyes narrowing.

Hawke moved subtly, putting himself between Saint and the aisle that led to the front of the plain. To Avi. It didn’t seem to matter that Olivia was back on the job—Hawke hadn’t taken his attention off Saint since the vampire had opened his eyes.

“You know what? Never mind.” She leaned up and kissed my cheek. “You go have fun with your boys club. I’m going to hang with Avi and Annika.”

The brush of her lips against my skin sent my pulse skyrocketing. How the hell did Lachlan and Alek get anything done with their mates close by? All I wanted to do was hole up in our bedroom and make love to Olivia. Then again, the thought of leaving her behind on any missions outside of Edgemont was excruciating.

“Are you happy to have Annika along?” I nodded back toward where Olivia’s niece sat opposite Avianna.

“Absolutely. I still can’t believe that Katya let her come with us.” Her smile was contagious. “And letting me train her? I’m just speechless.”

“She’s definitely learning from the best. See you in a few hours.” I pressed a kiss to her temple and we parted ways.

“So you can really just stop time?” Benedict asked Ajax. The two couldn’t have looked more opposite with Benedict’s short-cropped blond hair and Ajax’s Aquaman vibe.

“Yes,” Ajax answered with a smirk.

I took my seat between Dagon and Zachariah, settling back against the plush leather.
