Ali knelt in front of her, gripping her chin while his thumb caressed her lower lip. “Get on the bed. Lie with your head draped over the edge of the mattress. I’m going to take your mouth while Nikon goes down on you.” His gaze moved beyond her to the male on her bed. “You wanted a taste, you said.”

Nikon chuckled and patted the mattress. “Come on, love. I’ll have some of your sweet cream.”

What followed passed in a blur of passion—Ali bending over her, his hands braced on the bed while he pumped into her mouth, Nikon placing her thighs over his shoulders while he fingerfucked and sucked at her pussy and clit. Pinned by the two of them, controlled by their rhythm, all she could do was writhe and groan. When she drew near the precipice, Ali came in her mouth then circled her lips with his cap while Nikon drew hard on her clitoris. She came screaming and sobbing.

Afterward, they held her between them, kissing her face, her mouth, taking turns to praise and kiss her, using their hands to soothe her trembling frame.

Before she dropped off to sleep, Ali nuzzled her ear. “Now, you know how it can be. You don’t have to trust my fidelity, because by my nature, I am not in control, but you’ll have Nikon’s. You can trust that I will always see to your needs first. That I will love only you.”

Tears pricked the backs of her eyes as she gave him a nod before she fell into dreams.

Cold breath blew into her ear, and she shivered. She stood at the edge of the clearing, not far from the sacred oak. Moonlight shone from a huge orange moon. “Why are we here?” she cried out, angry that he’d found her in her dreams.

A hiss like a giant cobra sounded behind her, and she whirled. A man stood there, his body and face in shadow, his frame limned by light. “You are making a mistake,” he said softly, his voice rough, like he was forcing it to coarsen. “You have another choice.”

She shook her head. “If you’re suggesting I should choose you for my mate, tell me why I should consider taking someone who tries to intimidate me.” Another thought struck her. Why was he talking about choices at all? Did he need her consent?

He strode closer, and she realized his body was black, his hair dark as soot, but his eyes glowed red.

“You will choose me, because I can defeat both of your guardians. I can destroy them, and you can do nothing to save them—except give yourself to me.”

She snorted. “How can you kill them? Bore them to death with your nightly visits?”

His smile revealed gleaming, jagged teeth. “Watch,” he said, then snapped his fingers.

Instantly, they stood beside her bed. Ali lay on his side with his arm around her middle, spooned against her back. Nikon lay on his back, his arm outstretched, providing her head a pillow of muscle.

The demon beside her leapt onto the bed and moved toward Nikon’s head. Then he sat his nude form on the satyr’s chest and clamped his hand over Nikon’s mouth and nose.

The satyr grimaced and made choking sounds, but he didn’t seem able to fight off the demon on his chest. When his muffled cries grew fainter, Radha cried out, “Stop!”

She awoke in the bed and turned to Nikon who stared up at the ceiling, his fingers clawing at his face as though trying to peel fingers away. “Stop it!” she shouted and moved over Nikon, bending toward him and cupping his cheeks. “Wake up, Nikon! Wake up!”

Nikon blinked and stared at her. Then he drew a deep breath and jackknifed upward, spilling her to the side of him on the bed. “What the fuck!”

Ali flicked on the bedside light and looked at both of them. “What just happened?”

Nikon breathed hard, still drawing deep breaths. “Something sat on my chest. I couldn’t dislodge it. And he covered my mouth. He was trying to kill me.”

“No, he was proving a point,” Radha said, keeping her voice even. “He’s coming for me. And you can’t stop him.”

“You say he sat on your chest?” Ali asked.

Nikon nodded.

“Did you see him this time?” he said, turning to Radha.

She nodded. “He was entirely black—hair and skin. His eyes were red and his teeth jagged.”

Ali blinked, and then frowned. “He only acted like a mare.” He drew a deep breath and then rolled off the bed. “We have to go to the inn. Now. We have to talk with Ethan.”

“Why? We have guards surrounding Radha’s house. They won’t do any good against something that can kill us in our dreams,” Nikon said.

“We have to talk to Ethan. Trust me,” he said, then glanced at Radha. “Trust me.”

She nodded and moved off the bed, going to her chest of drawers and pulling on clothing. Nikon rolled to his feet and hunted for the clothes he’d discarded earlier. “I couldn’t move when he held me down.”

“Sleep paralysis,” Ali said vaguely. Then he moved toward the door. “I’ll make sure the others are ready to move out when you come downstairs.”
