It does sound like she’s willing to keep an open mind about it—that’s a good sign.
Elly and I teased each other once the Griswold shenanigans were underway on the screen. I let her lead because I didn’t want to give her the impression that I was trying to push her into something she wasn’t comfortable with. I let my excitement get away from me at the wine tasting event, and when she asked if I wanted to come back to her place, a Christmas movie was the only defense I could really put up.
Thank goodness I suggested it, otherwise, our evening could have gotten derailed if she just thought I came home with her for sex.
I did want Elly—my body was aching for so much more than a kiss or the gentle teasing that we had been doing all night. The craving was strong, but I found the willpower to resist going further than her thigh when my hand found its way there. It might have been cold outside, but the heat between us was so hot that we could have melted the snow on an entire city block. The movie turned into background noise because the only thing I wanted to pay attention to was the beautiful woman in my arms.
“I definitely won’t be thinking about my childhood the next time this movie is playing.” Elly leaned back from our kiss and grinned.
“I hope you’re with me every time I put it on.” My hands traced the curve of her hips. “It won’t be the same without you…”
“I’m sorry I got a little freaked out when we got here…” She looked down and sighed. “I don’t know what came over me.”
“It’s okay to be scared of something you’ve never done before.” I pulled her into an embrace. “I’ll never pressure you into anything that you’re not comfortable with.”
“Are you sure about that?” She looked up at me, and her eyes drifted to the wreath that was hanging nearby.
“That’s different.” I shook my head back and forth. “Besides, I didn’t really pressure you. You’re the one that wanted to hear a dirty joke…”
“Yeah, I did.” She smiled. “I bet you squirmed the whole time you were typing it.”
“I wouldn’t go that far.” I narrowed my eyes. “My humor might normally be appropriate for children, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t know a few filthy jokes.”
“Really?” Elly’s eyes lit up. “Tell me another one…”
“You’re putting me on the spot!” I exhaled sharply. “Okay, let me think…”
“Make it really dirty.” She leaned closer to me. “I’m going to need a shower before bed anyway.”
“That’s a visual I’ll never want to get out of my head.” I squeezed her hips. “Fine, I got one for you. What goes in hard and dry—but comes out soft and wet?”
“Oh wow…” She trembled. “That was dirtier than I expected. I don’t even think that’s a joke.”
“Then tell me what it is?” I traced her arm.
“Is it something…” She moved a hand to my thigh. “Really close to my hand?”
“No.” I shook my head and laughed. “It’s gum.”
“Gum?” Elly’s head snapped back. “Oh my god!”
“What? Gum is dirty—especially after some people get done chewing it.” I had to close my eyes to stifle my laugh.
“That’s so wrong.” She shook her head back and forth. “Tell me a better one…”
“I’m gonna run out….” I raised my eyebrows in contemplation.
I’ve heard my grandfather’s jokes enough to tell them flawlessly, but his were corny and clean.
“I bet you’ve got a few more dirty jokes.” Elly narrowed her eyes and smiled.
“God, this one is really bad. Okay.” I sighed. “Why does Dr. Pepper come in a bottle?”
“All sodas come in a bottle.” Elly raised her eyebrow in contemplation.
“Yeah, but Dr. Pepper’s wife is on vacation…” I chuckled under my breath.
“Huh?” She wrinkled her now, and then her eyes flickered. “Oh!”
