Chasing Her Curves - Page 35

“Sorry, you’re getting hugged.” I squeezed her tighter and she finally relented.

“Fine…” She grumbled as she embraced me.

“Thank you so much for everything you did. I didn’t understand how everything fit together at first, but I couldn’t be happier.” I pulled back from the embrace and smiled.

“Things seem to be going well. I saw Nate’s father in attendance?” She tilted her head to the side.

“Yes, they’re still on rocky ground, but they’ve had a few long discussions since we came back. It’ll never be perfect, but Nate seems happier each time he talks with him.” I nodded and exhaled sharply. “Another situation you fixed.”

“Come on, Harmony!” Gina came charging into the dressing room. “Oh, you have a guest.”

“Gina, this is Angelina.” I motioned to the raving blonde next to me. “She’s—well, you know.”

“Right, she’s the one that started all of this.” Gina nodded and smiled. “I’ve heard a lot about you.”

“So, you’ve shared your secret with some.” Angelina looked at me. “That’s very risky.”

“Only the people I trust, and I trust Gina more than anyone else in the world.” I nodded and took her hand. “That’s why she’s going to be standing by my side today.”

“Good. It’s always important to have friends. Oh, where are my manners.” Angelina reached into her purse and handed a card to Gina.

“Club Infinite Fantasy?” Gina’s eyebrows raised.

“I’m reopening it.” Angelina nodded. “It’s going to be a lot more selective and lot more secretive than it was before, but if you’re ever in New York…”

“I don’t know…” Gina stared at the card for a moment and then dropped it in her purse. “But I’ll hang onto your card, just in case.”

“Okay, I think I hear your music.” Angelina motioned towards the door.

“Yes.” Gina nodded quickly. “Everyone is waiting for the star of the show.”

I married Connor with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. There weren’t many dry eyes in the church. I even saw a light glaze over Angelina’s eyes when she finally walked out and sat in the last row. I shared a few glances with Nate and Devlin when I could get away with it. When the ceremony was over, Connor and I kissed to roaring applause and made our way to the reception hall. It was strange having so many relatives congratulating me and telling me that they always knew I would find the perfect man when they were giving me so much crap at my sister’s wedding, but I smiled through it all. I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw them descend on Gina like a swarm of locusts. They didn’t have anyone in the family to harass anymore, and it seemed like she was fair game after what they started at my sister’s wedding.

She might need Angelina’s card sooner than she thinks…

Reverse Harem Romance (Haremworld Book 6)

Chapter 1: Savannah

That bitch Nancy had everything and she didn’t even have to work for it. She coasted through high school, dated all the popular guys, and then she did the exact same thing in college. If she wanted someone, all she had to do was bat her pretty eyelashes and they belonged to her.

Here comes the bride, all dressed in white. Yeah, right. White. That’s a bit of a stretch.

After riding the carousel of eligible bachelors, and a few guys that weren’t quite available, she had finally decided to settle down. Of course, she had to choose the only man I ever loved. Dominic wasn’t just my best friend, he was my everything.

Why can’t you see past her pretty face? Why do you have to be so shallow, Dominic?

When Nancy put her claws in Dominic, I figured it would be another quick trip to bliss, followed by a broken heart—for him. I was wrong. The whirlwind romance kept spinning, and it seemed like it wasn’t going to end until the wedding bells tolled. Dominic was officially a part of my past and I had no idea where that left me. I never told him how I felt. I was too shy to profess my love because I was afraid of the rejection it would bring. I also didn’t want our friendship to end. My eyes glazed over as Nancy walked past me, on her way to everything I ever wanted.

Six months later

“Do you want me to call you a cab or something?” The bartender handed me my credit card back and stared at me as I staggered off the barstool.

“No, I’ll be fine.” I nodded and tried to force a smile.

“I’ll make sure she gets home.” A familiar voice—it couldn’t be him.
