Seven Soulmates - Page 27

“Well, right now all I can do is sit here and play with my fucking phone all day.” He lifted it and sighed. “I even downloaded some stupid ass dating apps since I can’t go out and pick up girls.”

“Dude, come on. If you want a girl to come take care of you, just call one of the cheerleaders.” I scoffed and shook my head.

“You know it ain’t the same.” Ben sighed.

I knew exactly what Ben meant. We had been sharing girls nonstop since we got to college. Almost every girl we had been with was one that had taken us both at the same time. A few of them seemed addicted to the experience and when I tried to hook up with one of them on my own, they weren’t that into me. I found that I wasn’t into it as much either. Watching Ben fuck a girls mouth or pussy while I had a different hole was like fucking someone while watching a porn film you were starring in. It made me cum harder than anything else, and Ben was the same way. Having a girl alone was boring and uninspiring after sharing so many of them. I had no idea what either of us were going to do when we got to the NFL.

“I even bought some stupid app that is supposed to help you find your soulmate. Guess what, I don’t have one.” Ben loaded the app and held up his phone.

“That sounds like a scam.” I took another drink of my beer. “There’s no such thing as soulmates.”

“I don’t know, a lot of people are getting together because of this app. Veronica and Maggie have both stopped returning my calls.” He guzzled some of his beer. “Veronica isn’t even coming back to school next year. Her soulmate is apparently some billionaire tech guy in Silicon Valley.”

“Slutty Veronica is going to go marry some rich dude?” I laughed so loud I threw my head back against the chair. “Oh, that won’t last long. She’ll take him to the cleaners.”

“Maggie got hooked up with some dude that lives in Japan.” Ben shook his head in bewilderment. “She doesn’t even like Asian guys!”

“I mean, do we really know that? There aren’t many Asian guys around here.” I chuckled and took another drink of my beer. “But hey, good on them. I plan on fucking a lot more girls before I ever get married.”

PRESENT DAY

“See, I told you that knee would get better.” I extended my hand and helped Ben stand to his feet after he leveled our practice-team quarterback.

“It’s not game ready, but it’s getting there.” He flexed it a few times and then returned to the defensive line.

We took turns sacking the practice-quarterback until he was so broken down that he didn’t even want to get up again. Ben appeared to be in tip-top shape, except for a minor limp. The doctors said that would go away before graduation. We headed into the showers and talked about heading out to find a girl for the evening. We had been holding back until we were sure Ben’s knee was better. It was clear that he was ready to get back on the other field we loved so much. We finished up in the showers, gave out a few high fives to the guys that played on the defensive line with us, and started walking towards our car.

“Hold up.” Ben reached into his pocket. “I’m getting a call.”

“All right.” I stopped and waited for him to answer.

“Hello—yes, this is Benjamin Johnson.” He tilted his head. “Yes, my brother is Alexander. He’s actually here, too.”

“Who is it?” I raised my eyebrows inquisitively.

“Hold on, let me get to the car and I’ll put you on speaker.” Ben motioned for me to follow and I hit the button my key to unlock the doors.

“Hello Ben—Alex. My name is Ethan Prince.” The voice on the other end had a rather confident tone.

“Wait a second.” I nodded. “I’ve heard of you. You’re that guy who makes dating apps, right? They talked about you in one of my classes.”

“Oh yeah!” Ben’s face reflected the same recognition.

We listened as Ethan Prince talked about the Soulmate app and I remembered Ben mentioning that he had tried it. According to the billionaire, we had been matched with our soulmate. Even more interesting was the fact that it was the same girl. We were both looking at big NFL contracts, so the money he offered didn’t entice us quite as much as what he said about us having one unified soulmate. Considering how much we loved sharing women, it actually made a lot of sense. The conversation ended and we sat there in silence for several seconds before looking at each other with huge smiles on both of our faces.

“Oh dude, this is perfect.” Ben nodded and pushed his phone back into his pocket.

“Yeah.” I shook my head in agreement. “I mean, can you imagine—we could actually justify just living together forever.”

“But I mean...” Ben’s smile faded. “Are we really ready to just settle down with one girl? I mean, it’s fun to share them and all, but the same girl over and over?”

“I guess we’ll have to meet this mysterious soulmate and find out.” I shrugged and cranked the car.

“DUDE, I’M READY TO bail. I’m good with sharing a girl with you. It made sense if we both had one soulmate, but this girl has seven?” I handed a beer to Ben and twisted the top off of mine.

“She’s so hot, though.” Ben shrugged and took a drink of his beer. “I kind of want to see this through. I mean, we are going to be on different teams after we get drafted. Wouldn’t it be easier if we just had one house and one girl to come back to?”

“Meanwhile, she’s fucking five other dudes while we’re off playing football?” I shook my head back and forth. “I don’t know how I feel about that.”
