“I’ve been thinking about that.” Zach nodded slowly. “I’m not so sure I want to leave.”
“Um, what?” I blinked in surprise. “What do you mean?”
“I didn’t get a chance to tell you yesterday because everything was so chaotic, but Dad said it was okay if we spend some of our inheritance on the orphans.” Zach sipped his coffee and then sat the cup down in front of him. “I want to put on the suit and deliver the presents on Christmas morning.”
“Fuck.” I exhaled sharply. “So you don’t want to go spend Christmas with Mom and Dad?”
“I mean, I do—but these kids don’t have anything. I guess the suit is actually trying to transform me into Santa Claus.” Zach shrugged and reached for his coffee. “Seeing them happy on Christmas morning would be awesome. Flying out on Christmas Eve is going to be such a pain in the ass anyway.”
“I’m not looking for to it.” I sighed and nodded. “Okay, fuck it. Let’s stay here—that means a few more nights with Holly as well.”
“You’re assuming a lot aren’t you?” Zach’s eyebrow shot up and he grinned. “She might have gotten what she wanted last night. We may never see her again.”
“Do you really think so?” I narrowed my eyes. “Want to make a bet on it?”
“No.” Zach chuckled and shook his head. “I’m pretty sure I’d lose that bet. One thing I’m curious about though…”
“Yeah?” I tilted my head to the side.
“What was the message she left on your phone?” He leaned back in his chair and sipped his coffee.
“Oh, here—I’ll show you.” I nodded and grabbed my phone.
“Wow.” Zach nodded and pursed his lips as he read her dirty message. “I guess she is getting a stocking full of coal for Christmas.”
“Who is getting a stocking full of coal?” Holly walked into the kitchen and immediately headed towards the coffee pot.
“We were just talking about you.” I laughed and took my phone from Zach. “You definitely made the naughty list last night.”
“Seriously?” She turned towards us and grinned. “I thought I was a Christmas angel.”
“A naughty Christmas angel maybe.” I winked at Holly as she sat down at the table.
“You’re the one that took my clothes off.” She sipped her coffee and continued to grin. “You just couldn’t wait until Christmas morning to unwrap your present. Now, who’s naughty?”
“Maybe we’re all getting coal this year.” Zach shrugged, but he couldn’t suppress a grin that mirrored mine.
“I never got threatened with coal growing up. My parents always said Santa was going to bring me a stocking full of switches if I didn’t behave around the holidays.” She put her coffee cup down on the table. “That was a lot more terrifying than coal!”
“Sounds kinky.” I leaned forward and chuckled. “I bet Santa wouldn’t have many girls on the nice list if he handed out spankings to the naughty ones on Christmas morning.”
“Especially if it was one of you in the suit.” Holly bit down on her bottom lip and grinned.
That makes her eyes sparkle—interesting.
“Oh? Do you need a spanking from Santa?” I tilted my head to the side.
“Maybe—but don’t you have to be a work soon?” She smirked and reached for her coffee cup.
“Right…” Zach grunted and started to stand. “I need to take a shower.”
“Are you taking the first shift?” I raised my eyebrows in surprise. “You took both shifts yesterday. I don’t mind going first.”
“If you’ll do something for me today, I’ll take both shifts.” He put his coffee cup by the sink and turned back towards the table.
“What do you need?” I looked up at him.
I’m probably going to do anything he wants if it means I get to skip the whole day again.
