“What would you like me to do?” She hadn’t intended to pitch the question so seductively, but her own aroused state gave her voice a husky purr.
Kyle hesitated, seeming to fight for the words. They’d always been very good at giving each other pleasure, each sensing what the other would like without having to be told. But their goal with the relationship revitalization project was to learn to communicate and she intended for him to tell her what he wanted.
“Your wish is my command,” she prompted.
His lashes lowered and he watched her through half-slit eyes. “I’d very much like to have your mouth on me.”
“Of course.” She’d expected this and didn’t need much encouragement. “Can you point to a specific spot?”
He looked positively grim as he pointed to his cheek. She gave him a sweet peck before looking up at him with wide-eyed curiosity. Next, he drew his finger down his neck to the base of his throat. She obliged him by trailing her lips to the spot where his pulse throbbed. Nipping at his skin rewarded her with a surprised exhalation.
She wondered how long he’d last at this game. He surprised her by taking her lips on a tour of his entire torso before arriving at the destination they were both eager to reach. She took him into her mouth, loving the silky texture of him, his salty taste and the deep, long groan that rumbled from his chest as she rolled her tongue around and over him.
Without knowing what else he wanted from her, she settled in to make him crazy. With tongue, lips and hands she worked him to the edge of orgasm and held him there. Occupied as she was, she had no way of asking him what was next. It was up to him to tell her.
His fingers bit into her upper arms, drawing her attention. “Not like this. Not tonight. I want to come inside you.”
That’s all she needed to hear. Shifting position, she kissed her way up his body until she straddled him. Judging from the intense light in his eye, he’d had enough of her taking care of him. Now, he reached between their bodies, positioned himself and drove into her. The feel of him filling her was a joy she could never get enough of. His hands on her hips told her the rhythm he wanted. Guiding her into a fast, steady pace, Melody found her herself rushing toward her climax sooner than she’d expected.
“Come for me,” Kyle said to her. “I want to watch.”
Melody pumped her hips, increasing her pleasure. Knowing he loved it when she touched herself, she slipped her hands over her breasts and played with her nipples. His hoarse curse made her smile. A second later, her head fell back as her orgasm claimed her. Kyle’s fingers bit into her hips as he pumped almost frantically into her. She rode him to a second climax, and cried out his name.
“Yes,” he rasped, his heart thudding wildly beneath her palm. “That’s my girl.”
She was his. In that moment of perfect clarity she recognized he’d own her heart forever. Was that why she’d been so afraid? Why she’d kept her distance? Because she belonged to him and that didn’t seem fair when she couldn’t claim his heart as hers?
Distantly, she heard his shout of release and her own name pouring from his lips as he came inside her with a final deep thrust. His fingers bit into her skin as if he was trying to make them one body instead of two. She gazed down at him, watched as unfettered joy replaced concentration on his strong features.
Chest heaving, he opened his eyes and the look there stole her breath. He gave her everything in that single moment of contact, of connection. But as she held her breath, waiting for the words to come, he only cupped her face between his palms and brought her head down for a sweetly sensual kiss.
“No woman has ever made me feel the way you do.”
It wasn’t I love you, but she’d take it. What choice did she have? She’d given him her heart and had to trust that he would take good care of it.
“I love you,” she murmured and sighed as his arms tightened around her.

The afternoon of her performance, Melody headed to The Roxy for her sound check. Kyle had offered to come with her, but she was in such a state of anxiety over her first solo concert that she turned him down. She’d rather have him see her in her element tonight instead of having him witness the meltdown she could feel brewing.
She needn’t have worried. The group of musicians backing her up were professional and fantastic to work with.
As she and the band were finishing up an hour before the doors opened, Hunter strolled in. She was surprised to see him and as the stage cleared, she sat down on the edge with her feet dangling.
“What are you doing here?” she asked.
“Nate mentioned you were performing tonight so I asked if I could introduce you. I thought you could use all the support you could get.”
“That’s really nice of you.” Her stomach knotted as she wondered how Kyle would feel about seeing him here.
“I hear congratulations are in order,” Hunter said. “Nate told me that you and Kyle are back together.”
“I guess we are.” Things between them had been going pretty fantastic this week. Being in LA had brought back all the great times they’d had together and Kyle had gone out of his way to make her feel special and adored.
“You don’t sound sure.” Hunter came to stand before her, one hand resting on the stage on either side of her hips, not quite touching, but suggestive all the same.
