Vicki drummed her fingers on the bar next to her. With every tap, April could feel her reservations falling away. Her eyes wandered down to Vicki’s full, coral red lips…
“Kiss me,” she said.
“What?” For the first time that night, Vicki’s composed facade wavered.
“Kiss me.” April gave Vicki a tantalizing smile. “I want to know what I’m getting myself into.”
Something ignited in Vicki’s eyes. Without hesitation, she reached out and cupped April’s cheek in her hand, drawing her into a searing hot kiss.
At once, April crumbled. She closed her eyes and let Vicki’s mint-tinged lips and heady scent overwhelm her senses. Her head began to spin, and the floor seemed to slip out from under her.
April pulled back, breathless. “Okay.”
“Okay, what?” Vicki asked.
“Okay. I’ll come home with you.” It was just one night after all. One night, no strings. And April was going to keep her head.
Not five minutes later, they were in the back seat of a cab on the way to Vicki’s apartment, their lips and arms locked together in a tempest of lust.
April and Vicki walked down the hall to Vicki’s apartment. They had ended up in a nice part of the city, in a fancy apartment building. April didn’t have a chance to comment before Vicki pushed her up against what April hoped was her front door.
April grabbed onto Vicki’s waist, pulling her in closer. Vicki pressed her lips to April’s in an insistent kiss. April struggled to keep herself from dissolving into Vicki’s skin. She wasn’t doing a very good job of keeping her head.
“Mmph.” April shoved Vicki away playfully. “Shouldn’t we wait until we’re inside? Do you really want to give your neighbors a show?”
“They’re going to get a show either way,” Vicki replied. “The whole building is going to hear us later.”
“You’re a lot of talk, but I’m not seeing any action.”
“Oh, I’m going to make you regret saying that.” Vicki unlocked the door. “Inside.”
As soon as Vicki opened the door, her expensive clothes and perfume made sense. A place like this, in this part of the city, would cost a fortune. The spacious loft was sleek and open, with high ceilings and big windows. It was all pale wood and glass, clean and white, while still feeling warm and welcoming.
“After you,” Vicki said.
April stepped inside. A small black cat stood up on the arm of the couch, yellow eyes glinting in the light. He looked at her and arched his back, his fur standing up, then darted off into the kitchen.
“That’s Sebastian,” Vicki said, flinging her blazer over the back of a chair. “Ignore him, he gets jealous.”
April turned in a circle in the center of the room. “This is a nice place.”
Vicki appeared behind her, wrapping her arms around April’s waist. She kissed the side of her neck. “If you think this is impressive, you should see the bedroom.”
“In a hurry to get me out of this dress, are you?” April asked.
“What can I say? I’m simply dying to see what’s underneath it.”
“Do your corny lines ever work on anyone?”
“You’re standing in my apartment right now, aren’t you?” Vicki said, running her fingers through her blonde locks. “You tell me.”
God, it was so sexy when she did that. “Show me the way to your bedroom and I’m yours.”
Vicki grabbed April’s hand and pulled her down the hall and into her bedroom. It looked much the same as the rest of the house, but not as bright. It was decorated in various shades of gray, with hints of red. There was a huge closet built into one wall. Apparently, the stylish woman owned a lot of clothing.
Vicki kicked off her boots. “You have twenty seconds to get out of that dress.”
A smile spread on April’s lips. She liked a woman who took charge in the bedroom. “Why don’t you come here and take it off me?” April asked.
