Eshon woke up to Kip nudging her side roughly. She felt him tugging at her like there was an emergency going on. She opened her eyes to find Kip fully dressed. She lay still and naked underneath his sheets, still rejoicing from the night before.
“Eshon, you gotta get up and get dressed,” he said. “C’mon, you gotta go.”
The high afternoon sun seeped through the bedroom window. The time on the digital clock read 1:15. She didn’t know she’d slept that long. But some good dick could put her into a long coma.
Kip forcefully pulled the bedroom sheets off her body and tossed them to the floor.
“Kip, what the fuck is your problem?” she hollered.
“Right now, you’re a problem. You need to leave.”
“What?”
“I got something to take care of today,” he said.
“And? Why can’t I just stay here and wait for you to come back?”
“You can’t. It was fun, but you know, we still ain’t together.”
Eshon frowned. She knew it, she fuckin’ knew it. He had gotten the pussy, busted a good nut, and now he was kicking her out. Eshon leaped from the bed. “You’re a fuckin’ asshole, Kip! Fuck you, fo’ real!”
They argued while she quickly collected her things and got dressed. Kip looked unconcerned about her feelings.
“I’m always good to you, Kip. Always! Why can’t you be the same toward me and my feelings?” she screamed.
“Yo, Eshon, fall back on the drama.”
“Fall back? Nigga, is you fuckin’ serious? You telling me to fall back on my fuckin’ feelings? You dumb fuck!”
“Look, we had fun last night. I just got shit to handle today.”
Eshon wanted to slap him so hard, it would make him cross-eyed. “FUCK YOU! I can’t fuck with you, Kip. You
’re always hurting me when I do nothing but love you all the time.”
Their argument echoed through the walls. Dressed and visibly upset, she took off out of his bedroom and right into Kid, who was in the hallway coming from his bedroom. She stormed right by him and out of the apartment, slamming the door so hard, it almost knocked the pictures off the wall.
Kip walked out of his bedroom and into Kid.
“What you do to her?”
Kip glared at his brother and screamed, “Mind ya fuckin’ business!”
Kid glowered. “You know, you can be an asshole sometimes, Kip. Eshon is good peoples, and the way you dog her sometimes, it’s disgusting.”
“What, you Captain Save-a-Ho now?”
“No, but I do know a good thing when I see one, and you just too stupid or too blind to fuckin’ see it.”
Kid angrily wheeled by his brother, hoping to run over his toes, and went back into his bedroom, slamming the door behind him.
Kip stood in the hallway, looking unmoved by anything Eshon or Kid had to say. He went into the living room and soon heard several hard knocks at the door. He was familiar with the hard knocking. His heart skipped a beat as he slowly walked toward the apartment door and looked through the peephole. He saw his nightmare come true—the police were at his door.
“Muthafucka!” he cursed silently.
They continued to knock.
Kid, alerted to the knocking, and came wheeling into the living room, looking worried and asking Kip, “What’s going on?”
