Dirty Work: Part 1 - Page 81

He turned to her. “Talk about what, eh?”

She took a deep breath. “I know something,” she started.

Hearing that, he moved closer to her. “You know what?”

“I overheard something from this bitch I know. And word is, it’s some crippled cabrón from Harlem that’s after you for murdering his brother. It’s Kip’s little brother. His name is Kid.”

“He has a little brother, eh. I did not know this.”

She nodded.

“My precious jewel, you are.” He sat close to her on the bed, looked her in her eyes and asked, “Can you get more intel on this man—this cripple—from this same woman?”

She nodded. “I can.”

He smiled.

“Good! You are special to me, Jessica. Very special.”

She smiled. Now was the time to implement her plan. She would have her cake and eat it too.

“Now if you excuse me, I need to make a phone call, eh. No more games with these imbeciles! I should show these fools true power.”

The apology from Jessica to Eshon and Brandy came out of the blue. Jessica had called them up wanting to make amends with them. Eshon’s twenty-first birthday was coming up, and to show that her reconciliation and apology were legit, Jessica wanted to throw her an over the top party at a club in the city. Eshon and everyone else was shocked.

“Let’s get the E and J Brandy bitches back together,” she said to Eshon.

After everything they’d been through, Eshon and the others were down. It was nice of Jessica. Eshon needed something special. After Kip’s death, she had been an emotional wreck.

A reunion with Kid, Devon, Papa John, Brandy, and Jessica was the perfect remedy. Jessica would plan it all, and she had picked the place. She would plan a memorial for Kip too. The entire thing would go down in two weeks, exactly on Eshon’s birthday.
