Best seats in the house. Luckily, I wasn't required to sit next to the other contest winners otherwise I wou
ld be planning violence against that Hank guy for besmirching the honor of Leo.
Though I figured seeing Leo Rose perform live merely feet in front of me would numb my desire for vengeance.
He walked out onto the stage. His hair was long, slick, dark, and beautiful. He was wearing a skin-tight white t-shirt with the powerful muscles of his arms leading to what was clearly a ripped chest. His tight leather pants just making me wet and forgetting all about the music for a second. Leo Rose was ten times hotter in person than he was on a screen.
And he was really fucking hot on a screen.
"How is everyone here tonight?" He called out, his voice loud but booming through the arena's sound system. The crowd responded loudly. "I can't hear you!"
The crowd responded even more loudly. Me? I was screaming my little head off.
I still couldn't believe that I got seats like this, and this wasn't even the part I was most excited about. Instead, the thought of being able to at least shake his hand, get closer to him, to talk to him. My mind was rushing with fantasy of what could follow with such an encounter. Rationally, I knew it'd just be an innocent encounter and nothing more.
Didn't matter to my imagination. This was Leo Rose, who had dominated my wildest dreams for the better part of a decade.
The show that he performed was fantastic. I never had the slightest bit of doubt that it would be. It wasn't as if this was the biggest crowd he had ever performed in front of, but he always gave one hundred and ten percent effort to putting on such a wonderful show.
I squealed when he took off his shirt half way through - and so did half the rest of the crowd too.
It was time for the final final song. The fourth encore. "One more folks, and then I have to be going."
The crowd booed.
"I know, but my managers are going to start physically pulling me off the stage if I keep going. You've all been wonderful. Let's finish this all with a song about finding that thing we're all searching for, about finding the one in a billion. You, and only you." He said as he pointed out into the crowd.
As he began to sing his ballad, his eyes panned over the crowd. "Through hell, through high water, through the devil himself, I've been searching."
I knew this one so well. It was my favorite Leo Rose song.
He continued. "False idols I've worshiped in hoping she would be the one, my heart shattered into a billion pieces as I looked through the other billions in search of her."
I knew how he sang this song. Always over exaggeratedly looking over the crowd, as if he were truly looking for the one in billions.
"The her I've been searching for has been you," as he continued over the crowd, his gaze finally stopped, landing on me. I was looking into the eyes of Leo Rose, and he was looking into mine. For a moment, he was silent. Too silent. This wasn't how the song went; he missed a line, his backing band confused and repeating the riff that was supposed to be behind it. All while looking at me. His eyes went wide for a second, and then he blinked, remembering where he was, singing the next verse."You, and only you."
I was blushing, but I was also confused. Why did he stop on me? I didn't mind having his attention, but I quickly wondered if I had something on my face.
No, I didn't.
I had captured his gaze somehow, just through being me. What made me all that special, I wondered?
Sipping water, I paced around backstage where the goons from the radio station told me to wait at. I wasn't given any hard times, but it was about midnight already. I wondered how long would I have to meet with Leo. Would it be any more than just a handshake, photo, and sending me on my way?
I was also told I'd be last, since I was the third winner of the contest. I could see the other two winners nearby. An older woman, and a bigger guy who was maybe a few years older than me.
There was a room with a star on it. Could it have been? Yes, it was. Leo Rose stepped out of the room. Sadly, he had put a shirt back on, and had a towel draped around his neck. He had a few handlers orbiting him.
I was too far away to listen in. He met with the older woman, putting on a smile. She forced a hug on him, nearly crushing him, but I could see him coping. It made me feel typical; sure his lady fan has a crush on him. Who wouldn't have a crush on Leo Rose?
Handshakes followed, the woman pulled out her phone and held it as far away as she could. A flash. I called it. Just a handshake and a photo, and a hug if I was crazy enough.
Nonetheless, she seemed pleased. She was giggling and wandered off, being shown the way by security. He was now to the dude. The handshake began immediately. This time, however, Leo wasn't smiling. The handshake never seemed to end. The guy's mouth was moving, and Leo was just sitting there nodding endlessly. Leo gestured towards the man's phone. He just kept talking - and then talked some more.
Leo yawned, and then waved him away. Eventually security intervened, and walked the second guy away.
He kept on talking the whole way.
