“Is it?” he managed to say between breaths.
“Will it hurt?”
“At first,” he answered grasping her hands and pulling her toward him. He wanted her but not if she worried. “We can wait. I don’t want to—”
She kissed him into silence. “I don’t want to wait. I just want to be prepared for you.” Then she pulled away again, her chemise sailing over her head. In short order, her pantaloons followed suit, stockings and boots left in a pile. She stood before him stunningly naked. Round, high breasts and a tiny waist met his gaze, accentuated by the flare of her hips. And on her chest, a smattering of freckles.
“One day, I am going to kiss and count each of those freckles,” he growled, sitting up to pull her back on top of him. She came willingly, her skin sliding along his. She was achingly soft and so silky he nearly came undone.
Grazing his hand along her back, he traced the ample curve of her behind and then slid his fingers into the crevice between her legs. She was wet and ready for him and he groaned again as her legs parted, spreading to either side of his hips.
He didn’t even try, his cock just found her opening, pressing into the waiting folds. “I love you, Ada,” he groaned even as he slid a little inside her.
With a decided push, she took all of him in, her maidenhead breaking in one quick motion. He heard her gasp of pain as she tightened. “I love you too. So much.”
What a gift he’d been given. He wasn’t certain what he’d done to deserve it but he knew, without a doubt, that he’d cherish her always. Lacing his fingers with hers, they stayed locked together, murmuring quiet words of love until she relaxed and he moved inside her, pulling out and then slowly pushing back in. She didn’t tense in pain so he tried it again. Minutes passed as he gently quickened the pace allowing her body to adjust. Part of him wanted to seat himself fully inside her and unleash his passion but he had loads of chances for that. This was their first time together and he wanted every moment to be special.
He felt the shift in her. The moment that she relaxed and then began to enjoy their union. Moving faster, he reached a hand around her buttocks, making sure to apply pressure exactly where she’d need it.
Her low moan in his ear told him that he’d found the mark and he smiled a bit despite the numbing pleasure robbing him of reasonable thought. Then he couldn’t think any more as they moved faster and faster, climbing toward the finish.
They crashed together, his body pressing into hers as he moaned her name one last time. “Ada.”
Her spasms and low cries were her only response and then she collapsed on top of him. Rolling to the side, he managed to tuck them both under the covers and he’d swear, as the blanket settled over her body, she was already asleep.
Pulling her close to his chest, he closed his eyes and drifted away.

Ada wasn’t certain the time, but she woke to a decided banging on the door.
“Forgive me sir, but there’s a message for you,” a gruff voice called.
Sir? She shifted, trying to force her mind to work. That’s when her bottom pushed into the large, hard body behind her. Her eyes flew open.
“Give me minute,” a deep sleepy voice rumbled behind her. “How long have we been asleep? An hour?”
Blake. She melted into his hard angles. A girl could get used to waking up like this. “I’ve no idea. I can’t remember ever sleeping like that.”
He chuckled but the sound was interrupted by another knock. “Sir, the delivery boy said it was urgent.”
Urgent? Her eyes snapped open and she began to sit up, but Blake climbed over her, pushing her back down. “Don’t move.”
“But I have to move. We’re going to rescue Grace this morning. You said after a few hours’ sleep, we’d leave and—” But he slipped on his breeches and crossed the room. As he turned the lock, Ada buried herself under the covers.
“Yes?” Blake asked, his tone far more clipped.
“This just arrived for you.” She heard the shuffle of parchment.
“Thank you,” Blake answered and then the door clicked closed.
Ada popped back out from under the blanket. “Who’s it from? What does it say?”
Blake was staring at the note. “It’s from Bad.”
Tucking the blankets about her chest, she sat up. Her fingers tingled with worried excitement. “And?”
Blake looked up from the sheet in his hand. “He says it’s done.”
