She wanted his touch so much, she used her hands to bring him closer, urge him toward the nipple.

“Hells bells, you’re so beautiful, Ada.” His thumb grazed the tender flesh before he sucked the other breast into his mouth.

She twisted her fingers through his hair, digging deeper, the ache between her legs pulsing with need. As if he sensed that, he stroked his hand down her belly and then he cupped her mound, gently parting the soft flesh for his exploration.

Her vision blurred as bright colors danced before her eyes and need built inside her. Without meaning to, she found herself begging. “Please. Oh yes, there. Please.”

For a moment he stopped, but then the velvety head of his manhood took its place. There was no pain this time, just delicious pleasure as he slid inside her, filling her with his hard length.

They moved together, slowly at first, but then building to amazing heights until they crashed over the edge together.

Ada, after having sworn she wasn’t tired, felt her eyes drift closed. She pried them open again just in time to see the first rays of the sun peeking into the window. “Oh look. It’s the start of the day.”

Blake rolled to the side, tucking her against him. “The start of our wedding day, my love.”

Oh dear. Butterflies flitted about her belly. That was exciting. Her eyes popped open again just as his closed. “You’re not going to sleep, are you? It’s too exciting to think about sleeping.”

One eye popped open. “The church won’t be open for a few hours at least.”

“What does that have to do with being awake?” She poked his shoulder. “This might be the most wonderful day of my life.”

Both his eyes opened then and he smiled tenderly. “Mine too.” Then his grin turned wicked. “And I think I know how we can pass the time.”

“Oh,” Ada answered as his lips found hers again.

Epilogue

Five hours later….

With the light of day, and their very early start, their trip back to London was significantly shorter than their trip out had been.

Now it was before noon and they stood in front of the Bishop of Canterbury, special license in hand.

Ada held both of Blake’s hands as they faced one another. She couldn’t quite keep still as she beamed at the man who was about to be her husband. This was a dream come true. “I have to confess that I saw you once…getting cakes with an actress.”

Blake’s smile disappeared. “That woman meant nothing compared to you,” he whispered as the bishop arranged candles.

She shook her head. “You misunderstand. You stole my breath that day and take it still now.”

Blake pulled her closer, leaning his forehead against hers. The bishop looked up then.

Ada pressed her lips together. She’d had to assure the man that her family approved, that Blake was just rescuing her reputation after the dastardly deeds of Crusher and Abernath. Reluctantly, he’d agreed to the license and the rushed ceremony. Blake’s generous donation had likely helped.

“And you mine,” he answered. “We’re ready to begin whenever you are, Your Grace.”

“Wait,” a feminine voice called from the back of the church. “Please wait.”

Ada’s head snapped up to see Diana and Exile rushing down the aisle, her mother and father just behind them. “You’re here,” she exclaimed.

“You said they approved,” the archbishop rumbled.

“We do,” her mother called, gasping for breath. “You’re sure Grace is all right?”

Blake gave her hands a squeeze. “As soon as the ceremony is over, Exile and I will go find them and escort them home.”

“What?” Ada asked. “You assured me that Baderness had this all well in hand.”

Blake stepped a little closer. “He likely does. But to be safe, I’ll return. Just as I brought you back to London to make sure that you are all right.”
