He slams into me twice more, his groans vibrating against my chest. He lets out a roar, and I feel his cock thicken then start to pulse.

My ankles lock around his hips, trying to gain some balance as there’s a fiery rush. Then I’m free-falling into darkness, pleasure pouring out as I fly apart, screaming his name.

I go limp, unaware of any more movement until my back is on the bed and Nick collapses on top of me, careful not to crush me. Our slick bodies stick together, neither of us moving as we fight to catch our breaths. Dazed, I open my eyes to find him staring, his bright blue eyes shining with love. “You okay?”

“Define okay.”

“Did I hurt you? I don’t know what came over me, but the minute we hit your door, I was unstoppable.”

“Hmmm, I think it was hot.”

“Well, then hopefully, you’ll still think it’s hot when I tell you what I planned before I mauled you.”

“What?” I go on alert, bracing for anything.

“It’s over. Whatever song and dance we played is over. You’re mine, Grace. No more miscommunications, no more secrets, no more lies.”

“Okay.”

“I’m always going to have your back, Grace, on every decision you make from this day forward. Do you know why?”

Without knowing what he’s going to say, I know my life will forever be altered. This is more than rough sex declaring I’m his.

“Why?” I croak, emotions swirling inside.

“Because I choose you. And I’ll follow you everywhere you go to chase the dreams you and Kayla had. I. CHOOSE. YOU.”

He repeats my tearful words from the morning on the boat. I was right. At this moment, my life is defined. There’s no warning, and I can’t hold back the wail. “My grandma would l-l-l-love you!” I choke out.

He rolls, bringing me with him until I’m cradled to his body.

“I certainly hope so, Grace, because we’re naming our first daughter Kayla.”

Another round of sobs come, this time with lots of giggles in between.

Chapter 33

Nick

We should have stayed in bed. Then I wouldn’t have to share her. But staying in bed meant I couldn’t follow through on the last step of my plan, so it was my idea to come to the market and let her show me around. Her eyes lit up with excitement when she started to describe the people she’d met while she roamed the streets the last few weeks, getting accustomed to the culture.

She’s curled to my side with my arm slung around her shoulders, pointing out different places, when a man jumps in front of us, scaring the shit out of me. Possessively, I tuck her behind me, glaring at the man whose eyes grow wide at my sneer.

“Nick, it’s okay. I know this man. He runs the pottery shop on the corner.” Grace runs her hand up and down my arm reassuringly. “He’s harmless.”

I grumble and sidestep, allowing her to speak to him. While they chat, I eye the grocery on the corner Grace’s landlord told me about. I listen to them for a minute, and when I decide he’s safe, I lean down and kiss her cheek.

“I’ll be right back. Don’t go far.”

“Where are you going?”

“To get a few things.” I jerk my chin to the store, and she nods, going back to her conversation.

I easily find what I’m searching for and am back by her side in less than ten minutes. The man breaks into a wide smile this time, giving me an approving look, even as I guide Grace away.

The driver I hired for the day is waiting on the corner and greets us with a grin before taking the bag from me and opening the door. I slip a piece of paper in his hand then slide next to Grace in the backseat.

“What are you up to?” she questions.
