Shit.

Shea’s heart leaped into her throat as he strode into the Nightwalker club like he owned it. Her breath caught. Any thoughts of leaving the club—of having to walk right past him—flew out of her head.

In her experience, Colton was definitely a jeans and t-shirt kind of fella. Someone must have clued him in to the club’s dress code, though, because…

Goddess, help me.

She hadn’t known he could get any hotter.

The dark, tailored suit he wore was a rich shadow wrapped around his delicious body, hugging his long legs, his broad shoulders, his tight ass. The bottom of the jacket flared at his waist, playing peek-a-boo with the pristine white button-down that seemed to glow in the club’s lighting. Like most of the crowd, he wore mirrored shades despite the dark setting, but she was positive his eyes would be that icy blue shade that meant his wolf was in charge.

In a room full of Nightwalkers, of course he would let his beast take the reins.

But what the hell was he doing here?

She froze, a deer in headlights. From behind her locked-down shields, she could feel her side of the bond reaching for him. There was no doubt in her mind that that was him.

Oh, no.

No, no, no.

Did he see her? Ducking behind the nearest post, Shea slammed her back against the support, her stomach sinking all the way to her stilettos. Closing her eyes, she checked her shields, relieved when she assured herself that her half of the bond stopped there.

She didn’t know if he saw her. At least she could be sure her longing for him hadn’t given her away.

She opened her eyes again, leaning around the side of the post so that she could get a better look at him.

The strobe lights reflected off his neatly combed, sandy brown hair, his jaw hard as he paused beneath one particular spotlight. His head swiveled as if he was searching for something—or someone. Even from where she hid, she could sense the danger and the determination rolling off of him.

Shea had a reason to be here. So, it se

emed, did he.

He wasn’t alone. Standing maybe a step or two behind Colton, a man hovered close enough that it was obvious they’d arrived together.

That surprised her.

On the one hand, she was glad that he wasn’t walking into the club with another woman; though she knew she would have to get over him eventually, seeing him with someone else would’ve been too much for Shea.

On the other hand, she’d learned a lot about Colton and the few people he hung around.

That wasn’t Maddox. That wasn’t the ghost, Dodge, either.

Shea didn’t have any idea who that man could be and that worried her. Whatever Colton was doing in Bloodlust, something warned her that it wasn’t going to be good.

Oh, no—

“Shea?”

Hudson elbowed her in the side.

Her head whipped around, glancing up to meet his anxious gaze. “What?”

“He’s ready to see you.”

He?

Colton—
