“Oh, come on, Al. You look like an idiot,” Ben said loudly with a snort. Alex suddenly snapped out of his stupor.
“I, I, I-“
“You’re stuttering. This is the spelling bee in fourth grade all over again, Alex,” Ben said. She shot him a heated look. “Oh, yes, the woman who was just crying and declaring her undying love for me is going to nag me now.”
She blushed. “I didn’t say undying!”
“Vivian.” Alex’s voice cut through the room and she turned back to her boss. His face was back to normal now, though his face was a few shades too pale. “Is that true? You’re in love with Ben?”
“Yes, Vivian,” Ben practically purred while strolling over to sit by her on the couch, “Do tell us of of your undying love for me.”
She buried her face in her hands again with a groan. “I’m so sorry, Alex!”
To the couple’s utter astonishment, Alex erupted into laughter. He leaned on the top of the nearby chair to support himself as he grabbed his stomach.
“Hey, I’m not that bad!”
“Shut up, Ben,” Alex mumbled with a final deep laugh. “Well, Vivian, I want to apologize to you. I’m sorry, you know, that it had to be him.” He shot a playful smile at Ben, who rolled his eyes.
“You’re not mad?” she asked, her voice nearly a squeak of surprise.
He shook his head. “No, God, how could I bed mad at you? You’re the ideal employee. I’m just sorry you have such bad taste.” Ben shot him a look, but his brother just smiled.
“So, you’re staying?” she asked softly, not looking at Ben.
“Yes!”
“Why are you moving offices then?!” She had made a complete idiot of herself! All for nothing! He was just moving offices.
“He said he needed an office away from everyone else. With thicker walls,” Alex muttered the last part darkly, “Which is a request I finally understand now.”
“We can christen the new one together,” Ben said, his lips suddenly on her neck. “But, we should probably say goodbye to this one first.” She struggled to push him away, but he was stronger.
Alex laughed. “Yes, so…I’ll just be leaving now.” He was out of the room so quickly that she was sure he had broken an Olympic record. She turned to Ben, who was still assaulting her neck with kisses. He peered up at her.
“You cried over me,” he said with a grin.
“Look at me,” she commanded. He obeyed. She looked into his deep green eyes and slapped him as hard as she could. He yelped in pain and held his face with his mouth open.
“What the fuck was that for, Vivian?!”
“That was for making me cry,” she said with a growl. “This is for stayin
g.” She kissed him hungrily.
He forgot his injured cheek and flipped her so she was underneath him, pinned against the leather couch. He grinded his hips against her pelvis and licked his lips.
“I have two things to tell you, love.”
She raised her eyebrows. He wasn’t one to stop foreplay for anything unless it was to tease her. “Yes?”
“First thing: I love you.” His eyes were soft. She felt happiness surge through her entire body. A grin splayed across her lips and he planted a soft kiss on her nose, before pulling back again. His face was more serious this time, as if anticipating a reaction to the next bits of news.
“And?”
“You’re going to work for me now. I had Alex transfer you…Also, I need you to do a ton of work today and stay late.”
“BEN!” His lips cut off her angry yell. His hands pinned her arms above her head. She huffed in between their kisses. “You are a bastard!”
