“I’m trying to quit smoking. It’s a nightmare.” He blows out a breath before chewing on his nail.
“What is this I’m looking at?” I sigh, exasperated.
“The person who killed your mother must have known her. There were no bullets fired from her security team, no defensive wounds on her. She trusted the person—knew them. Same with Serena. This car was picked up on street cameras within a three-mile radius of both sites at the time of the killings.”
“Whose car is it?”
“I don’t know yet. The plates are fake, which is a huge red flag.”
“So, what do you know? Because it appears you’re no closer to finding this prick than you were months ago.”
Crossing his arms he scratches his chin, “It takes time.”
Slamming the folder closed, I point to the door. “Get the fuck out of my house and don’t come back until you have real answers.”
Taking back the folder, he tucks it under his arm and goes to leave, stopping at the door. “Eddie’s body washed up,” he says without looking back at me.
Spinning my chair in the opposite direction to him, I growl, “Eddie who?”
Thomas enters as Morels exits. “Sir.” He bows his head.
Thomas has worked for me for a long time. He’s loyal and worth every penny I pay him. There’s a mutual respect we have for each other that comes from monsters recognizing the darkness in each other. I trust him with my life and the tasks I hand over to him.
“I want you to deep clean everyone on our books, even those who share my blood. I want to know any detail, no matter how small, that raises a flag. I’m done waiting for this asshole to strike again, I’m coming for him.”
Violent intent hums in the air between us, both ready to take apart this fucker.
“I understand, I’ll get it done. What do you plan for the Blaydon girl?”
She’s a loose end, “I haven’t decided yet.” I hadn’t thought about her. It was more of a tactic to make her brother think I’d be doing those things I told him I would be.
He doesn’t need to know my father couldn’t get it up nowadays and the only girl I want to destroy sexually is waiting upstairs.
“May I keep her?” he asks, looking me directly in the eye. It’s not something many can do. I’m not sure what Thomas’s kinks are, but if he wanted this small thing, he can have it.
“As long as she doesn’t become a problem for me down the line.” She’s seen too much, including my face.
“That won’t be a problem, sir.”
Another problem solved. I dismiss him and power down the computer.
Enough business for one day.
Alyssa is laying with one leg hooked over the covers, her naked body summoning me to take her again.
Peeling my clothes from my body, I crawl in behind her.
She’s warm to touch, perfect. How the fuck did I get this lucky? She stirs in her sleep, groaning and pushing her ass into my cock.
My teeth bite down on her shoulder, and a small gasp flees her lips. Palming one of her tits, I grind my cock up the crease of her ass, pinching her nipple, caressing, guiding her onto her back. Her thigh’s part, my name murmuring from her mouth.
“Lift your knees, baby. I’m going to eat your pretty cunt until you’re weak.”
Chapter Thirty-Eight
Alyssa
Laying on his chest is bliss. Many lonely nights, I thought about nothing but being in his arms, but my mind didn’t do the real thing justice.
His naked body is toned, strong. He holds onto me, allowing me a sliver of affection after fucking me into almost unconsciousness.
“I saw that detective here earlier,” I tell him, stroking my fingers over his pec. “Do you not mind him showing up here?”
I’d come to tell Luca thank you for my things earlier, including my missing cell phone that was in the bedroom waiting for me with my belongings from Swan after dinner.
I didn’t want to disturb him when I saw Morels entering his office, so I came back to the room.
My head bobs with his chuckle. “I’m not a fan of the law, but it can be useful to have them on your payroll,” he tells me, his honesty both surprising me and warming me.
I like that he trusts me with valuable information.
Simon pops in my mind, a knot forming in my stomach.
“Are you not worried he’ll be found out to be dirty and use what he knows against you to save himself?”
His finger hooks under my chin, tilting it up so our eyes meet. “All secrets get found out eventually, little dancer. If and when he becomes a problem, he will be dealt with.” His lips press to mine. “Now, sleep.”
His breathing evens out after a few minutes, but I can’t sleep. The thought of Simon being dealt with leaves an icky stirring in my stomach.
