Without Remorse

“Nicholas!”
His SUV rounded the corner of the otherwise empty level of the covered garage and parked several spots down from her.
And Sloane jumped out of the rental car, sprinting the short distance to him.
He shoved his door open and met her.
It was only once she was in his arms that she realized what she’d done. But then, she thought, squeezing him as hard as she could, she didn’t need to really freak out because being in the parking garage was kind of like being inside. Or maybe it was just being with him.
Nicholas pulled back from her and held her cheeks in his huge hands. He was grinning, his eyes shining. “Look at you,” he said, shaking his head. And then he kissed her, pressing his lips hard to hers and invading with his tongue not long after.
But another moment more and he was pulling away from her again. “Don’t get me started, woman. We still gotta get the hell outta here.”
With that he grabbed Sloane’s hand and led her back to the rental. They jumped inside and after he put the car in drive he immediately took her hand again. “Ready for the rest of our life?”
She grinned tremulously back at him. “Ready.”
