Once she was seated, he felt his eyes roll back in his head, and when she started to move, he knew he wouldn’t last more than a minute or two. He grabbed her hips to stop her, rolled them both over, and took her at a pace he could control.
He kissed her like he used to. Soft at first, and then more demanding. Pulling back to nip her lip, and then laving the bite with his tongue.
He could remember how every inch of her felt, as though it was yesterday that their bodies were one like they were today.
There were so many things he wanted to say. He wanted her to know how much he’d missed her. How good it felt to have her in his arms again. How nothing had ever felt as right as this did, but he couldn’t say any of those things for fear it would bring her hurt back to the surface.
“Dutch?”
“Yeah, baby,” he said while scattering kisses all over her.
“Tell me what you’re thinking.” It was as though she read his thoughts.
“Malin…I…”
She put her hands on his shoulders. “Look at me.”
He did.
“Are you thinking about me, or her?”
“You. All you,” he said, knowing now that he’d made a mistake by withholding his thoughts from her.
He moved inside her slowly and kept his gaze riveted to hers.
“I’m thinking about how much I missed you, this, us. How nothing—no one—ever felt as right as you do. I’m thinking that as long as it’s been, as much as I could never have hoped this could ever be, I finally feel as though I’m exactly where I should be, with the exact person I want to be with. I’m thinking that this is home, Malin. Wherever you are, as long as we’re together, it’s home.”
When he moved faster, thrust deeper, she dug her fingernails into his shoulders.

Malin bit her tongue, holding the words in that she’d wanted to say to him since the first time they made love. Because that’s what it was. It was love. She had loved Dutch for so long that she didn’t know anything else, or anyone else.
She knew what he meant about them being together feeling like home. As exciting and passionate as it was between them, it was also familiar and comforting and right. Nothing could ever feel as right as his body next to hers. None of that changed the fact that he’d broken the heart that held so much love for him, and he’d done it without a second thought.
She closed her eyes, willing the negative thoughts away, willing herself to stay in the moment of how it felt to have Dutch inside of her again.
Slowly and powerfully he moved in her, picking up his pace and then pulling back again. When she put her arms around him, she could feel the definition of the muscles in his back under the palms of her hands.
“Malin…baby…” he groaned and thrust harder, both of them exploding at the same moment, one that was as intense as it was gentle and loving.
Dutch stayed where he was, not moving anything but his fingers in her hair. His eyes met hers, and he smiled.
He rolled so they were on their sides, still looking at each other. He leaned forward and kissed her.

At some point in the night, Malin turned so her back was to his front. His arms remained wrapped around her, and it was his favorite way to sleep. His hardness, because he was always in that state when he was with her, was nestled between the sweet cheeks of her bottom while he cuddled her to him, watching over her, protecting her as she slept.
Sleeping with her beside him, joining their bodies together, laughing with her when they sneaked back to the kitchen, naked, to get another bowlful of Sofia’s delicious food—this was all the good stuff in life, right here. Malin Kilbourne.

When he opened his eyes, the sun shone through the window, and he was in bed alone. Neither made him happy. He felt as though he could sleep several more hours, but without Malin next to him, it wasn’t about to happen. Where was she, and why hadn’t he woken up when she got out of bed?
Moments later he heard the patter of her feet as the delectable smell of coffee wafted into the room with her.
“This is heaven,” he said, pulling her close to him when she crawled back in bed. “You and coffee; there’s nothing more a man could ask for.”
