“I see.”
“The other two men getting shot was, shall we say … collateral damage.”
“Collateral damage?” Rain questioned with attitude.
“Yes, Ms. Robinson, it was collateral damage. Something that I am sure that you understand.”
Rain said nothing; one, because Black told her to behave. He is a better ally than an enemy. And two, because he was right. I did blow up a warehouse.
“However, I can assure you that there will be no future animosity. You have my word on that.”
“That’s acceptable.” Black looked at Rain and she nodded her head. “Now, about that other matter we discussed.”
“The gentleman you seek is staying at a villa called Rancho de Chana,” Rodrigo informed him. “If you like, I can have my men take you there.”
When Black stood up, Rain did too. “That won’t be necessary,” Rain said. “Just tell me the address and we’ll take it from there.”
When they arrived at Rancho de Chana, Black and Rain went directly to the villa with their gloves on and Black knocked on the door with his gun in his hand. It took a few minutes, but a man finally opened the door.
“Can I help you?” the big man said.
“Is Milton Petty available?” Black asked.
“Is he expecting you?”
“No.”
“But I’m sure he’ll see us,” Rain said and shot him in the forehead.
When Milton heard the shot and the body drop, he came running toward the door. He stopped in his tracks.
“Oh shit.”
“Hello, Milton,” Black said as he and Rain walked in the villa.
“Hello, Mike,” Milton said, and Rain walked up quickly and punched him in the face.
“I’m Rain Robinson.” Rain hit him again, this time with her gun. Milton grabbed his face and looked at Black. He had taken a seat on the couch.
“Have a seat, Milton.”
Milton sat down in a chair across from Black, Rain followed him to the chair and the second he sat down, she hit him in the head with the barrel of her gun, before bringing it to his temple.
“I bet you’re sitting there, in pain, wondering why Ms. Robinson seems so mad at you?”
“You gotta believe me, Mike,” Milton said, pleadingly. “I had nothing to do with what David was doing. It was him and Kwame. They didn’t tell me anything about it until the night they tried to kill her.”
Black said nothing, and Rain hit him again.
“I swear, Mike, I’m telling the truth.”
Black remained silent, and Rain hit him again and that one drew blood.
Milton spit out the blood. “You’ve known me a long time, Mike.”
“I have.”
“Does this sound like my kind of move?”
