The Reign of Rain Robinson - Page 173

Natrick opened the door for Chee-Chee and she walked into DP’s gambling room. There were two tables with men playing poker, and there were three guys that were throwing dice against a wall in the corner of the room.

The house man stood up when they walked in, but when he saw their guns, he quickly surrendered his and put his hands up quietly.

“You want a job, or do you want to die?” Chee-Chee asked.

“I want a job,” he said.

“My name is Chee-Chee. You work for me now,” she said and Natrick sat down in what was the houseman’s chair and that was that. They had taken over DP’s gambling operation without firing a shot.

It was the same thing at the strip club. Without attracting any attention from the customers, the dancers, and most of the staff, Chee-Chee waltzed in with Otis, Patrice and Reidel and took over the club. But there was an added bonus when Ryder came in with Chao and they searched the club.

“What do we have here?” Chao said as he opened the door and Ryder came in the room.

“I’ll be damned, another gambling spot,” she said, and as it was at Bennie’s Bodega, the houseman and his associate relinquished their weapons without discussion. Chee-Chee followed Ryder in, and she informed her new employees that she ran shit now. She left Otis to run the club, Patrice was assigned to handle the dancers, and now that there was gambling in the house, Chee-Chee put Reidel in charge of the operation.

And now, it was on to the prize, the warehouse where DP ran his online and human trafficking operations. When she heard from Milton that DP had moved the operation before Carmen and the police could raid it, Rain came along to make sure that this time that the trafficking was smashed for good. The rest of the operation was another story.

When they arrived at the warehouse, Rain, Carter, Ryder and Hassan got out of the car and went inside; when they did, Bart stood up. “What y’all want here?” he asked, as Carter came toward him quickly. He pulled his gun and raised it.

Carter knocked the gun out of his hand, grabbed Bart by the back of the head and slammed his face into the wall. As Bart’s body slumped to the floor, Carter reached for the doorknob and opened it.

“After you, ladies,” he said and extended his hand gracefully.

“Thank you, sir,” Ryder said as she passed, putting the silencer on her gun. When she came through the door to the warehouse, Dalton and Lance were standing there.

“You’re not supposed to be back here,” Dalton said when he saw her, and Hassan come through the door.

Dalton raised his weapon, but before he could get a shot off, Ryder fired and hit him with two to the chest. Hassan followed Ryder through the door as Lance raised his weapon and opened fire. Hassan returned his fire and hit Lance with a shot to the gut. When Rain entered with Carter, she shot Lance twice in the head, and Carter did the same to Dalton.

“Make sure they ain’t gettin’ up,” Rain said.

Upstairs in DP’s office, Sean heard the shots and looked at Ricky, Calvert and Quincy. “Y’all go see what’s going on down there,” he said, reaching in the desk drawer, took out a gun and put one in the chamber. If this was who and what he thought it was, he would either need to be ready for them, or think seriously about getting out of there and making up a good story to tell DP later.

Meanwhile, as sixteen women masturbated for their clients’ entertainment in soundproof rooms, they were totally oblivious to the fact that a gunfight had broken out downstairs in the warehouse.

When they split up and went in different directions, Ryder and Hassan continued to move through the warehouse, as two men with AK-47s came out firing and forced them to take cover. One circled around to the side of their position. Before he could get off a shot, Hassan saw him.

“Look out, Ryder!” he yelled.

Ryder turned in time to hit him with three shots to the chest before he could get a shot off.

Rain and Carter made their way around the warehouse, three men came out of a door armed with Mini-14s and began firing. Rain shot one as he moved for cover, while the other two continued firing. Carter fired and hit him with three shots before moving to cover.

They were forced into an office and they hit the floor as the shooters kept firing. When the shooting stopped so they could reload their weapons, Carter fired and killed one and Rain shot the other man when they came through the door.

Rain got up. “Ready?” she said to Carter.

“Let’s go,” Carter replied.

As Ryder and Hassan moved through the warehouse, they came upon Ricky and Quincy, who were armed with Tavor Bullpup 5.56 assault rifles. Ryder laid down cover fire, while Hassan ran to cover. Once he made it and was set, he covered while Ryder joined him.

When Ryder raised her weapon and fired, the man took cover and shot back. Hassan emptied the magazine and put in another one. Then he stood up and fired twice, hitting him with one to the chest and one to the head. The other man opened fire at Ryder, and she returned fire, and then ducked for cover. When she made it to her feet, they exchanged fire before Ryder hit him with a shot right between his eyes.

When Rain and Carter split up in order to cover more ground, she moved through the warehouse looking for DP. Rain had just stepped in one of the rooms, and when she did, Calvert came charging at her and she fell to the floor, knocking the gun from her hand. Calvert fired at her, but his gun jammed.

Rain got to her feet quickly, assumed a Beom Seogi stance, a Taekwondo fighting tiger stance that Nick taught her. She looked at Calvert, smiled and waved him on. He laughed a little, dropped his gun and put up his hands.

“Don’t just stand there lookin’ at me like a fuckin’ pussy, make a move, nigga,” Rain said calmly.
