Jackie and Travis stood up. “Wait here, Fiona,” Travis said to her.
“As you wish, Travis,” Fiona smiled and said sensually, as she crossed her leg and delicately placed her hands on her k
nee.
Rain shook her head, smiled to herself, and left the lounge with Jackie and Travis in tow. Once they got back to Rain’s office, Yarissa followed them in and made cocktails for them all. “Is there anything else you need?”
“We’re good, Yarissa,” Jackie finally had to say because Rain still hadn’t said a word. Yarissa looked at Rain and waited until she nodded her head before she left the office.
“I’m listening,” Rain said as she unholstered her guns and put them on the desk.
Jackie exhaled and told Rain the story of Fiona. She reminded her of the time when Flip kidnapped some of Simone’s women and how Jada West had come to see her about getting them back.
“I remember. What about it?”
“That was the night I met Fiona.”
“The woman in the lounge?”
“Yes,” Travis said.
“What about her?” Rain asked, quickly beginning to become impatient with what seemed to be a long story.
“Well … the night that we burned out one of DP’s gambling spots, me and Travis wanted to blow off some steam. So, we called Simone and had her send Fiona to us,” Jackie said, and Rain began to laugh.
“That sexy-talkin-juicy-bitch got you two niggas turned out,” Rain laughed as Travis and Jackie dropped their heads.
“Yeah,” Travis said.
“Y’all got that shit in check now, or is this gonna become a problem?” Rain demanded to know.
“No … no, it’s not a problem,” Jackie said quickly.
“Not anymore, anyway,” Travis said softly but Rain heard him.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Jackie and Travis looked at each other and then back to Rain. “You see … it’s like this …” Jackie began.
“Fiona didn’t wanna go back, so we decided that we were keeping her,” Travis said. “So we called Simone and made an offer for her, but Simone refused.”
“How much she want for juicy?”
“A quarter of a million dollars,” Jackie said.
“And I told her she was out of her fuckin’ mind,” Travis said, and Rain broke out laughing again.
“Greedy bitch shoulda took the hundred Gs and been done with it,” Rain said, still laughing, but then she noticed that Travis and Jackie weren’t. “What? There’s more to this shit?”
Jackie and Travis nodded their heads, and then Jackie went on to explain to Rain why Simone felt Fiona was worth the money that she was asking.
Simone sat back and crossed her leg. “You see, what you are not taking into account is Fiona’s future earning potential. She is young, gorgeous, extremely talented as you both can attest to, which makes her an excellent earner. Therefore, and for those reasons, I am going to have to be firm about the price.”
“Quarter Mill?” Travis stood up. “You really have lost your fuckin’ mind, haven’t you?”
“No, actually, I am quite in control of my faculties, Mr. Burns, which is why that is the price for Fiona. You are going to have to decide whether you wish to accept it or not.”
“Not,” Jackie said and then she stood up. “Thanks, but we’ll pass.”
