“She told you, huh?”
“Sent me a text right away. I told her to take a picture, but she said I was pushin’ it,” Shy said, and they moaned a kiss into each other’s mouth. “It means a lot that you did that for me.”
Their lips met again; their tongues danced, and their lips separated only to breathe.
“That’s what you made Rain fly you down here for.”
“You know I can’t ever get enough of you,” Black said and began to kiss his way down her neck and over her chest, avoiding her very swollen and sore nipples.
His kisses over her bare skin excited her, when he reached her round stomach, he pressed a tender kiss against it before he peeled back the sheet, and it inflamed her. His smooth lips and his warm tongue felt wonderful against sensitive skin.
Shy spread her legs and Black moved gently between them. His fingers opened her moist lips before he pulled her into his mouth. The flicking of his tongue against her bud, made her hips come up off the bed. Black placed his hands under her to hold Shy in place as his lips sucked gently on her clit.
She lay there silent, unable to release the sound from the quake occurring in her womb. The intensity of the orgasm, the contraction that seized upon her, making her feel both pleasure and pain at once as her body twitched. She held his head to her as the feeling subsided and her body relaxed.
“Oh, Michael.”
Black eased in behind her, and then he slid into Shy slowly. Maybe it was because she was so swollen, and so moist at her core, but she could literally feel every inch of him inside of her. His thickness and the precision of his slow, but deep thrusts that joined him to her made her toes curl.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she felt the emotion of the life they shared being inside of her as they made love. Shy could feel him expanding inside her and then he tensed and jerked before collapsing against her back.
A few hours later, when Black and Shy rolled out of bed and drifted into the kitchen, they weren’t really all that surprised to find Rain seated at the table next to Joanne with an almost empty plate in front of her.
Shy laughed. “That’s how you convinced her to fly down here in the middle of the night. Food.”
“Morning, Ma.” Black kissed his mother. “Morning, Joanne,” he said and sat down next to her while Shy began to fix their plates.
“That’s her second plate,” M said and got up. “And you need to sit down and let me get that, Cassandra.”
Shy placed a plate in front of Black. “Thank you.”
“So, you need to wobble your ass over here and sit down,” Rain said with her mouth half-full.
Shy handed M the plate. “I do not wobble when I walk,” she said and sat down.
“Yes, you do, Sandy,” Joanne said.
When M finished with the plate, she placed it in front of Shy and went and sat down next to Rain.
“You decide what you’re gonna do, Ma?”
“I’ve known Nick a long time, Michael. It wouldn’t be right if I wasn’t there to see him and April get married. So, if it’s all right with you, I want to go.”
“That’s right. Wouldn’t be a family wedding without the matriarch of The Family being there,” Rain said.
Chapter Eight
It was a brand-new day. The sun was now rising not only on the morning hours, but on her upcoming nuptials. Today she would become Mrs. Nick Simmons; something she never imagined happening. Not with their start of barely knowing each other and having a one-night stand that resulted in her carrying and raising his son. No matter how she looked at it, her and Nick being about to tie the knot, seemed unbelievable.
But then she was reminded of how despite being opposite in so many ways, with her being orderly, organized, and always seeking structure, and him being the fly by the seat of his pants, loving wild and dangerous situations type of guy that Nick is, they complemented, maybe even completed each other. No one else had the ability to get her to see the excitement in the unknown the way that he did. And there were many times when Nick thanked and appreciated April for calming him down and getting him to see all the beauty that a life of love with her could be. Sometimes by pulling him into bed with her where she’d kiss and make love to him, or just by being there to lie against him and stroke his chest until their breathing became one.
It was cheesy when she thought of it, but it was them. Two halves, two separate halves of one whole, and now they were to be married. She was excited because most of all, Nick and April were at peace with each other.
It may have been a brand-new day, but nothing had changed in The Family. Although it had been quiet for the past two days, nobody expected that to last. In fact, Black expected either Barnes or Mobley, if not both to try something. And now thanks to Carter, there was El Decreto de Guerra to contend with as well. For that reason, security at Cuisine for Nick and April’s wedding was high.
The amount of security did not go unnoticed by April’s family. As far as they were concerned, April was marrying a nice man that owned a very successful international security consulting business, so even though April warned them in advance to expect it, the obvious security seemed over the top.
Nick and his best man, Marvin were wearing classic fit Neil Allyn Charleston black tuxedos as were Judah and Pills. They were charged with the responsibility of escorting the ladies without a plus one. Judah had the honor of escorting Monika to her table. she was a feast for his eyes in the Halston Heritage tie-back cut out gown that clung to her hips. Carla, in her Chiara Boni La Petite Robe faux wrap gown, was escorted by her husband Xavier.
