His words bring the emotion flooding to the surface once more. In a few moments, we won’t be two separate beings anymore, we will share the surname Valentine, binding us together forever more. Then baby Valentine will be here in a few months as well, completing our little family unit.
And it all starts here on this lovely beach in Hawaii. My wedding day to the woman I met in the bar and I paid her bar tab so she would come home with me. The woman I only wanted one night of fun with.
As our wedding day kicks in to gear and we finally solidify our love, I smile at Tia, feeling the love from her just like I hope she can from me. Our happy ever after doesn’t start here, it began the moment we met each other, but it does take on a new, more powerful meaning today, and that absolutely thrills me.
“I love you,” I mouth at Tia, needing her to know in this moment.
“I love you too.”
It’s this love that got us through some very challenging times and it will only get us through more. I just know it. There is no worry about our future because our past has made us strong.
All we have to focus on is keeping the love going, and that isn’t anything that troubles me at all. I’m confident in that.
