Any Day Now (SWAT Generation 2.0 8)
I grinned. “I don’t think so. That’s not her traumatized look.”
Amelia snickered and then sat up over me, my dick once again pushing inside of her deeply.
It hadn’t lost any of its hardness despite my recent completion.
“I know that I just came,” Amelia breathed, twisting her hips. “But you feel really good.”
Laughing now, I sat up and took her with me, never once losing our connection.
Instead of taking her to the bed, though, I took her to the shower.
“We should’ve let King out first,” I admitted as I cranked the shower on with one hand while holding her up with the other.
She nibbled on my bottom lip. “Maybe.”
My finger closed over her nipple ring, and I gave it a gentle tug, eliciting a small gasp from her lips.
“We’ll take her outside later,” I said. “I let her out at lunchtime. She’s got a few more hours in her yet. Just like me.”
Wrapping her arms around my neck, she said, “That’s good. Because I have a few more hours left in me, too.”
The moment the shower was hot enough to step under, I did, causing her to laugh and yank the hat off of her head. Seconds later she’d tossed it over the shower door onto the counter next to the sink.
“Don’t think that you can have that back, okay?” she teased lightly, running her finger along my chest as she stared into my eyes.
“I wouldn’t dream of taking it away.” I paused. “Is it too soon?”
She frowned. “Too soon for what?”
I raised my brows at her. “If I tell you, will you run?”
She frowned harder, a cute little dimple appearing between her eyes as she thought hard.
“You’re speaking in riddles,” she said. “Nothing is too soon when it comes to you and me. Hell, we’re living together and it’s only been a few weeks.”
I moved until her head was slightly under the spray, and she tilted her head back exposing her neck.
And the love bite I’d given her at some point after we’d gotten home.
“I love you.”
Her head tilted up, and with her hair plastered to her head from the water, all I could see were her eyes.
And the love shining back at me through them.
“It’s not too soon,” she admitted. “Though, you have more balls than me because I was going to wait for you to say it first. I just thought it would take you a really long time.”
I winked. “I’m not really one to hide from my feelings.”
She kissed me, only pulling back long enough to say, “No, you aren’t.”
We ran out of hot water before we’d even started washing ourselves off.
And by the time we both fell into bed together, it didn’t matter that the water was cold because I warmed her back up with my mouth, and other various parts of my body.Chapter 19
When taking on a SWAT team, you’re going to need more than a brick.

The SWAT call that we were paged out on at four that morning was most unwelcome.
“Nooooo,” Amelia groaned. “Whhhhy?”
We were both warm, naked, and well-sated in my bed.
I’d been sleeping with her for a little over an hour after spending the majority of our time at home making love to her.
In the shower. Against the bedroom wall once we got out of the shower.
Then we’d fallen into an exhausted heap.
I sighed, rolled over, and read the message.
“Gotta go,” I grumbled, feeling my eyes rub like sandpaper against my eyeballs. “Fuck.”
She sighed and rolled back over, burying her face into the pillow.
I reluctantly pulled myself out of the bed, smirking slightly when I felt all the muscles that were sore on my body.
When I stood up and headed for my closet, she got up, too.
Instead of going to the bathroom like I’d expected, she left the room, turning on lights as she went.
I listened as I got dressed and smiled as I heard the coffee maker start the familiar noises indicating coffee was soon on the way.
By the time that I was making my way out to the kitchen, fully dressed, she was dressed in one of my shirts and a pair of my sweatpants and holding out a to-go cup of coffee to me, as well as an insulated container that likely held the rest of the pot of brew.
“Be careful,” she said, shaking her head so that her hair fell out of her eyes.
I bent down and kissed her lips, then nearly tripped over King.
“Shit,” I said. “Um, can you take her out? I think we kind of forgot about her.”
“We’re the worst dog parents ever,” she admitted as she followed me out, her hand clutching her head. “And goddamn, but my head hurts.”
King went to the corner of the yard, and I kept an eye on her as I left, which was likely how I missed the car parked at the end of the road until it was too late.
