Under the Want Ads - Love Under Lockdown

“When I’m with you, I don’t want to be with anyone or anywhere else. It’s so crazy. But it’s a great feeling. I want you to keep working for me and I’m going to give you a promotion. But most of all I want you to know that I love you and I want to be with you personally, too, not just professionally. And not just as a plaything, a pet. But also as someone I love very much.”

“I love you, too,” she said, her eyes searching mine. “And I want to keep being with you, too.”

My heart felt so full.

I sat her on the bed and kneeled down on one knee.

“Will you marry me?” I asked her, holding her hands in mine.

She hesitated and my heart dropped into my stomach for a minute.

“Are you serious?” she asked, her face looking surprised. “You really mean it?

“Yes, I am, and I do,” I told her, trying my best to reassure her so that she would know just how serious I was.

She was looking at me like she was happy but incredulous. I knew that this was nothing like anything I’d ever done before, but I wanted her to trust that I really meant it.

“I know it’s a crazy thing, to go from being a Dom/pet relationship, a boss/employee relationship too, to an engagement,” I told her. “But I’m sure stranger things have happened in life. And I don’t care. We’ll make it work, together. I have never loved anyone, and I love you. I want to make sure I can keep you forever. Will you marry me?”

She smiled at me sweetly.

“Yes, I’ll marry you,” she said. “I love you so much.”

I knew that our best days were ahead of us. After going through the quarantine together, I knew that our future was bright.

“I’m so happy that I answered that strange ad,” she said, laughing.

I thought about the unusual nature of the ad and was glad that she had responded, too. It brought us together and opened my life up to a joy that I had never imagined even possible.

“I’m so glad that you were different enough to make me fall in love with you,” I told her. “And that you’re going to be my pet forever.”

She had been the one to break through my hard shell and soften me. It felt nice. And I looked forward to a lifetime of it.

We went to get some food and wine so that we could celebrate both the end of lockdown and the beginning of our engagement. As I held her hand in mine, I was looking forward to telling the world that I was finally in love, and that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this beautiful woman by my side.THE END
