“You remember when I said you were nothing but trouble?” I ask her.

“Yeah, I recall,” she says with a sarcastic smirk.

“I’m thinking I was wrong.”

“You were?”

“You’re more dangerous than trouble. You’re like a keg of dynamite ready to go off.”

“Chains…”

“So much TNT packed in you a man will probably be sent off to meet his maker when you blow.”

“Such romantic talk.”

“That’s who I am. Mr. Romance.”

“Whatever,” she says rolling her eyes. “Does this mean you’re too scared to see where this goes?”

“This?”

“You and me, whatever this pull is between us. Listen, I may be young, but I’m not stupid. I know you feel the same chemistry. If you didn’t, we wouldn’t be doing this cat and mouse thing. So, don’t try to play dumb with me. I don’t have time for games.”

“Are you always so direct?”

“Definitely.”

“Good to know. So, you’ll be kicking your boy toys to the side as long as I’m in the picture.”

“If you would have stuck around last night, I would have told you about Dom and Thomas.”

“I don’t want to hear about them. Mostly the thought of them around you makes me want to fucking kill them.”

“I don’t think I’d like that,” she says softly, her dark eyes going round in shock.

“I figured. So, for now, I just need to know you get that while you and I play our thing out, they are not in the picture.”

“Play our thing out? That’s just words to warm any girl’s heart right there.”

“It’s not your heart I intend on warming, Kayden.”

“You’re right,” she says, shaking her head. “You are Mr. Romance.”

“I’m waiting on your answer,” I tell her, tired of talking—at least about this.

“Answer?”

“Now who’s playing games? It’s simple. Are you kicking your boys to the side or not?”

“Not playing games, Chains. I’m just having trouble following the turns you take. But, to answer your question, Dom and Thomas won’t be an issue while we… How did you say it? Play our thing out?”

“I can see you really liked how I said that.”

“When something is important, you pay attention,” she says, throwing my words back at me.

“Let’s go,” I tell her, standing up.

“Go? But I just got here. This is where you chose to meet, remember?”

“Now that the groundwork is settled, I want you on the back of my bike.”

“Where are we going?”

“Next county over. Not about to invite your father’s club’s eyes today. What goes on between us, remains private—at least for now.”

“Then, it’s probably a bad time to tell you that my father has eyes everywhere, but especially in the next county over.”

“Nothing but fucking trouble,” I mutter, rubbing my beard. “Fuck it, we’ll ride until I get tired. Whatever happens, happens.”

“Whatever happens, happens,” she says, her full lips stretching into a smile.

I put my hand on her back, barely stopping myself from letting it travel to her juicy ass. Then, I lead her back to my bike. Messing with Kayden may wind up with me swinging at the end of a rope and not breathing. Dragon has a reputation and that’s with men that aren’t fucking his daughter. I can’t talk myself out of this shit though. I want her.

And by God, I’m going to have her.7KaydenKnowing you should walk away and walking away are two very different things. What Chains wants is totally clear. He’s not trying to hide it. This is going to be all about sex and working whatever itch he has out of his system. That’s not what I want, but at the same time, I’m pretty fucking tired of boys who run away when they find out who my dad is. Chains knows and instead of running, I’m pressed up against his body, riding on the back of his bike.

I thought I wanted anyone else but a man that lives the club life. I thought I had plans, but I lose sight of everything when Chains is near. Well, all except one thing.

Him.

I want more of him.

Which has to be the only reason I’m not walking away. I know the heartache he will leave me with is going to hurt like hell. I also know this could end very badly if my father finds out. But, it’s like what my mom has always said.

“Some things are worth the pain.”

Chains, I know, will be worth it. At least that’s what I’m telling myself right now. I’ll deal with the fallout later.

We ride for hours, and I’m not complaining. I’m a biker gal; I’ve always loved the freedom of being on the back of a bike. It’s freaking awesome and the fact that Chains is in control and I’m on the back of his bike makes it even better. He finally pulls into a small dairy bar a few counties over. Dad still has some reach here, I’m sure he knows that. But, it’s not Uncle Skull’s territory so that’s marginally better. I slide off his bike and he joins me. His hand immediately goes to the small of my back, his fingers stretching out over my skin, feeling as if they are burning through my dress, as he guides me to a picnic table.
