I know all of this. Yet, I can’t imagine making her leave.

Relief fills my chest when I get upstairs and find my bed empty. I’d sworn to myself with each step I took closer to this room, that if she were still in here, I’d tell her to not only get the fuck out of my bed, but out of my home, and out of my compound. I would’ve been strong enough to make her leave, but I know without a doubt, I’ll never be strong enough to not go after her and drag her beautiful ass right back here. Her being elsewhere in the house has really saved me a lot of time.

Quickly, I tug on a shirt, zip my jeans, and get socks on my feet.

“Hey,” a sweet voice says as I hit the bottom of the stairs.

I nod at Candi as I walk through the kitchen toward the back door.

“I thought you wanted to fuck me when you woke up.”

My cock jolts, but my fists clench at the same time.

A riot of emotions hit me one after the other as I stare at her across the room. Where the brazen, seductive act came from I don’t know. For the most part, she’s shy. Her devious side only makes an appearance after I’ve said something filthy to her first.

I hate that she’s gorgeous, standing there in tiny fucking shorts and a tank top that barely restrains tits I know for a fact are the perfect size, both tipped with the sweetest damn nipples I’ve ever had the pleasure to wrap my lips around.

Goddamn her tits are perfect. Note to self: Add fucking them to my list of filthy shit I want to do to her.

The words are right on the tip of my damn tongue. I’m seconds away from telling her to change so she can hop on the back of my bike, but a rattle from the porch breaks her hold on me.

“I have better things to do,” I say and walk out the door.

My disposition doesn’t improve when I see Briar and Molly standing close together. His hands are gripping her upper arms.

“Something we need to discuss, Brother?” Red-hot rage burns behind my eyes as I glare at them.

Briar releases his hold on Molly, but they don’t step away from each other.

“She thinks they’re going to a party in Worcester,” Briar explains.

All of my attention is now on my sister. She has two damn older, blood brothers, and I still require help from other guys in the group to help manage her.

Molly’s eyes narrow, focused on Briar rather than me. She’s pissed that he’s snitching on her, and I get it. The girl thinks she’s grown and safe outside of these walls, but I know differently.

“You’re not leaving the compound,” I tell her before walking away.

“You’re a dick,” she spits, but I ignore her.

Even the slam of my front door doesn’t affect me. I have one goal in mind, and that’s all I can focus on. A ride alone without the worry of what’s going on at my clubhouse is the only reprieve I’ll get for a few hours. Some days I just want to get on my bike and ride away. I want to leave everything behind me and start anew somewhere else, but I can’t do that. People depend on me. My club depends on me.

I don’t say a word to anyone when I pass through the clubhouse. People must be able to read the look on my face when I enter and walk straight through to the front because no one tries to speak to me or ask me to join in on their fun. TJ was right earlier. All of the guys are drinking, laughing, and hanging on to the women spread out among them. Life is good. They have no fucking worries, not a care in the world for the evening. If only my life was as simple. I’d thought things were hard trying to get work done around here without drawing my father’s attention, but things have been even more hectic since he was put to ground.

Pete doesn’t give me shit when he sees my lone bike inch near the gate. He merely presses the button, giving me a slight wave when I gun the engine and ride off into the darkness.Chapter 24Candi

“Your brother is an asshole,” I swear as I plop down in the vacant rocking chair between Molly and Briar.

Molly snorts, and Briar just stares off into the distance, holding a beer on his lap as his fingers pick absently at the label. I feel like I’m interrupting something. Both of them seem sullen. Well, Molly is pissed, and Briar seems dejected.

“You tell me that at least once a day,” Molly reminds me.

“And I’ll keep telling you until he changes.”
