Leo (Vigilance 3)

I was already half-hard, and my cock quickly stiffened the rest of the way as he caressed me with the rope, dragging it farther down my body.

“What time is it?” I asked when I managed to form words.

“Too late for me to do what I want to do.”

“Then why are you teasing me?”

Leo grinned. “Because I want you to be thinking about it all day. I want you fantasizing about me twining this rope all around your body, restraining you, leashing you. He wrapped his free hand around my neck and stroked his thumb up and down my throat.

I pressed into his touch, and he squeezed just enough to get my heart racing. “I’m not going to be able to think at work.”

“Yes, you will. You want to please me. If you’re very good today, then I can reward you when we get home.”

I did want to please him, so very much. My voice shook as I said, “I’ll try.”

“I know you will.” He circled my cock with the rope. I gasped when he tugged on it to pull it loose. He dropped the rope onto the floor and pressed his body against mine.

I felt his hard cock against the seam of my ass. “Want you so badly.”

He kissed my neck. “I want you too, but we’re going to wait.”

“Tormentor.”

“You love it.”

“I will. Tonight. But right now…” I wiggled my hips. I wanted Leo inside me, wanted his hand on my cock.

He chuckled as he clamped a hand on my hip, stilling me before rolling over and rising from the bed. “Come on. We’ve got to get ready for work.”

“You’re evil.”

“You won’t be saying that tonight. Well… not after I’m done with you at least.”

I scowled at him, then forced myself to leave the warm bed that smelled like the man I wished I could keep.

Midday, I texted Cathy and requested some sandwiches. As I headed to the back to let Leo know I intended to go over and pick them up, I stuck my hand in my pocket and felt for the piece of rope Leo had teased me with that morning. When I’d gotten dressed, I’d grabbed it on impulse. Just knowing it was there was making it even harder to wait for the end of the day.

I started to knock on the door of the office when I heard voices. Leo wasn’t alone. I hadn’t seen Niall or Giorgio arrive, but they’d probably used the back entrance. I told myself to knock. Leo had told me it was all right to come back if I needed something, but I hesitated. They sounded angry.

I knew listening in was a bad idea. That was what had gotten me into trouble with Leo initially. Of course, it had also landed me exactly where I wanted to be—in Leo’s bed.

He trusted me, and I trusted him now. I shouldn’t betray that by listening to his conversation with his teammates. I raised my hand to knock when I heard Giorgio say, “At least consider it. He already knows our secrets, and he’s been doing a great job here.”

“No. It ends after we deal with Swain. I can’t handle anything else.” Leo’s voice was harsh and decisive.

My stomach clenched, and the door wavered in front of me. I’d known things between us were temporary, but I’d let myself hope. I’d been so stupid. This was just what Cathy had tried to warn me about.

A few moments passed before I had the strength to turn away. My head pounded, and nausea sent me hurrying to the bathroom.

I wet a paper towel and pressed it against my face. It took several minutes of slow breathing and letting the cold water calm me before there was any chance I could walk out the door and face customers.

I didn’t know how I’d ever face Leo again. I’d have to pretend I hadn’t heard what he’d said unless I wanted to confess. Neither seemed possible at that moment. Then I remembered I needed to pick up our lunch order. The thought of food sent my stomach turning again.

I called Cathy and asked if there was any way she could send the food over.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing. I just got busy.”

“Ezra, you’re lying.”

“Please. Is there any way you could deliver the order?”

She huffed. “I expect you to call me tonight.”

“Okay. I will.”

I would need to talk to somebody eventually, but right then, I knew I wouldn’t be able to. I was humiliated and mad at myself for ever thinking I could hold onto a man like Leo.

I was too young, too inexperienced. He was way the hell out of my league.

Leo

X’s assistant, a man who had worked for him for years and the only member of his staff he trusted to do the administrative work for Vigilance, had decided to retire. I could hardly blame him for wanting to spend more time with his grandchildren, but X hadn’t had a chance to line up anyone new for the position. I understood why Giorgio and Niall thought Ezra was a good candidate, but I couldn’t stand the thought of him continuing to be involved with our work. “It’s not a good idea.”
