'I think it will be better if I do not fall in love with him,' I add, chuckling.

Megan also chuckles.

'The thing is, you cannot control your heart,' she says shrugging. 'If you start falling in love with him, you will not be able to do anything.'

'Oh, yes, I will,' I say, as I nod, though deep inside my heart I have a fear that my sister is right.

'I hope so,' Megan says, as she takes my hand. 'I do not want my sister to suffer in any way. When you fall in love, you stop controlling your heart. It is like the steering wheel gets out of your hands, and you lose control. I was like that when I fell in love with Sloan some time ago,' she adds.

'I can imagine,' I nod. 'I have never fallen in love yet, so I have no idea how it feels. How will I ever know that I am in love with him?'

'Do not worry – you will know it when it comes,' she says, smiling. 'And you will not confuse that feeling with other feelings.' She gets up to go: 'Do not just sit here, go out and spend your time outside. I will go to the kitchen and help Forba with dinner.'

My sister leaves and I just sit here smiling. Even though, she is now the Lady of Domnhall, she has not changed a bit. She still goes to the kitchen to help Forba with dinner, and the entire clan as well as the maids, appreciate her kindness.

I think she is right – I must spend more time with Calem, until he is here. I leave my bedroom and start walking down the corridor. It is empty. I have no idea where his bedroom is. I do not even want to know. Why would I want to know? To go there? Surely not! I would like to spend time with him if I met him, but I am not going to go looking for him.

I know that soon it is dinnertime, so there is no point to go outside the castle. Soon all of us will be gathering in the dining-room to have dinner. I make sure that my hair looks nice, and head towards the dining-room. Half of the clan is already there, as Forba and Anabel are hurriedly making the table. Megan is having a conversation with Kam and Frasier, Sloan's cousins. They are obviously having a pleasant conversation, according to the smiles on their faces.

I look around the dining-room – Sloan is sitting with Calem, and they are talking. As Megan's both sides are occupied now, I go and take a seat across the table. It happens so that I sit in front of Calem. He notices me mid-conversation and gives me a smile, which I return eagerly.

As the dinner progresses, I feel more and more how attracted I am to Calem. I manage to examine all his facial features, which makes me surer that he is the most handsome man that I have ever seen. Of course, I am not in love with him, as it is pure attraction. But it does not mean anything, and cannot mean, as he is leaving in a couple of days, and he will soon become a memory.

Calem does not take his eyes off me during the entire period of the dinnertime. Even though, he turns his eyes away from me from time to time to converse with Sloan, he still returns his gaze to me hurriedly and smiles.

The dinner is over. It passed as if in a second.

'The weather is nice outside,' Calem tells me gently. 'What about some horseback riding? We will have fun.'

The idea sounds just perfect to me. I nod, as I get up.

'Excellent, Calem, I think it is a good idea. I love riding horses. I have ridden horses since I was a small girl. Who else is coming?' I ask him and immediately regret. I surely want no one to join us. Luckily, he thinks the same way and shrugs.

'Just the two of us,' he replies in the same gentle voice. I nod.

As people slowly start rising from the table and leaving the dining-room, we also leave together and head straight towards the exit of the castle.

'I have my favorite horse in the stables,' I tell him, as the light breeze of the afternoon gently pats my face the second I set foot out of the castle. 'Every time I go to ride a horse, I pick that particular horse. And that horse likes me, too,' I add. 'It recognizes me and is happy to see me every time I enter the stables.'

'That is good,' he says. 'The horses can feel who is a good person, and who is a bad person. If the horses like you, than you are a wonderful person, which I was sure of. We will have a good time with our horses.'
