“She looks so happy,” Claudia whispered from Dana’s other side. “She barely even smiled when she was with my father. Not that I’m surprised.”

Dana squeezed the younger woman’s hand before laying her head on Ash’s shoulder. These last six months had been the most amazing of her life. She had moved in with Ash the day after she’d gone to see him that night, and neither of them had ever looked back. She was completely secure in her love for him and knew that he was in hers. Instead of being bogged down by their emotional baggage, they’d been set free. And true to her word, Claudia had contacted her from Miami and they had stayed in touch. She was a different person away from Bart’s influence, and Dana had come to consider her the little sister that she’d never had. Oh, the attitude was still there from time to time, but so was a shared affection. She was very much a part of this family that Dana had built for herself. “I love you,” Dana murmured in Ash’s ear, smiling as he turned his head to kiss her forehead.

“I love you too, baby. I can’t wait ’til the day that you finally decide to marry me and I get to see you standing up there.”

She smirked up at him. “We’re not church wedding kind of people. Meet me on the beach one evening at sunset. I’ll be the one wearing a dress . . . well, unless I opt for shorts. Depends on the mood.”

Zoe peeked over her shoulder from the pew in front of them. “That sounds like a yes to me, Ash. You’ve got a witness, so make this happen. But if we don’t stop talking, Charlotte is going to kill us.”

Dana grinned as she always did when she was surrounded by the people who meant everything to her. She looked around the church as the ceremony came to an end, and she noticed something that took her by surprise. Claudia was positively riveted by something or someone in the next row. Rhett? He does live in Miami. No . . . surely not.

“What has your attention?” Ash asked in amusement. “I’ve been calling your name, but you were zoned out. I hope you were at least thinking of your future husband.”

“Always,” Dana purred. She pondered mentioning her suspicions, but then decided that they could wait. After all, she had plans to make an honest man out of Asher Jackson. But for now . . . she’d let him make a naughty future wife out of her.
