“Winter told Killyama.”

“And she told you?”

“Hmm… hmm.”

When she started to play with his hair, he tried harder to get his coat off. If she kept touching him, he was going to come in his slacks.

Audaciously, she helped him get out of his coat. Feeling the surge of his cock becoming strangled within his pants, he started sweating. Taking the coat off just made matters worse. Now, the side of her breast rubbed his chest with every movement she made.

“She said that it gives him an adrenaline rush it takes him hours to fuck off. You want to try it and see if it works for you?” Suggestively, her hand dropped from his arm to his thigh.

His hand went to hers, stopping it before it moved any higher.

“Stop.”

“You sure? Hollywood…” she crooned, turning her hand in his until their fingers were linked together. “I could ride you like you’ve never been ridden before.”

“I’m not ready…”

Each time he uttered those words, it seemed as if it was getting harder and harder.

“You seem ready to me.”

His head fell back to the headrest. “I’m not.” He forced the words out of his mouth.

“You sure you don’t want to change your mind?”

“I’m sure.”

He might have said he was sure, but he was at a breaking point and was about to reach down and put her hand exactly where he wanted it when she slid back across the seat and started buckling her seat belt.

“Okay.” Reaching toward the floor in front of her seat, she pulled her grocery bag onto her lap. “You want a brownie?”

Astounded at her complete change of mood, he watched as she opened her container and took out a brownie.

“No.”

“Okay.” She held the brownie with her teeth as she closed the container. When she removed the brownie, he could see she had taken a bite. “You don’t know what you’re missing. It has M&M’s.”

Grinding his teeth, he started the car. It would be a fucking miracle if he made it back to the house without strangling her. One second, she was acting as if she would fuck him in front of anyone who could look in the car window; the next, she was casually eating a brownie as if she had never asked him to fuck while his dick still felt as if it was going to explode.

Tightening his hands on the steering wheel, he backed the car up and drove to Grace’s home.

“What did you get Grace and Ice for Christmas?”

His mind drew a blank. The only thing he could think of was how he could get his cock back under control before he had to go inside the house.

“Well?”

“I’m giving Dax and Ice both watches, and I’m giving Grace a necklace.”

“Is it an expensive necklace?”

“Does it matter?”

“It might to Ice.”

“Are you saying I shouldn’t give it to her?”

“It’s hard to say. I don’t know what Ice is giving her. It might ruin his day if you outdid him.”

“Fuck.” She was right. If he didn’t give her the diamond necklace, he wouldn’t have a gift for her. It was Christmas Eve, and the stores were already closed.

“Have you already put their presents under the Christmas tree?”

“No, Grace wouldn’t be able to resist opening hers. They’re locked in a suitcase in my bedroom.”

“You could go on the computer later tonight and pre-pay for a trip for them, and for God’s sake, don’t spend a fortune on it. More like a weekend away. That way, it looks like you’re doing it for the both of them. You can always give the watch and necklace to them as going-away presents when they go on their trip.”

“Grace wanted to go to Disneyland when she was younger. Oceane and I could never work it into our schedules at the same time. By the time we could, she was too old.”

“You’re never too old for Disneyland.”

“Did you go when you we’re younger?”

“No, I’ve never been either.”

The wishful inflection in her voice had him taking one hand off the steering wheel to reach for her hand.

“Why not?”

“To my parents anything that was considered fun was a waste of money. We weren’t even allowed to buy each other presents for Christmas.”

“Was it against the religion your parents believed in?”

“No, they just believed their money and time could be better spent benefiting others.”

“Are your parents still alive?”

She gave a short laugh. “They’ll probably live forever.”

“I take it you’re not close?” Dalton carefully watched his words, not wanting T.A. to know that Penni had mentioned her grandmother’s funeral.

“They fucking hate me.”

“They can’t hate you; you’re their daughter.”

“Not all parents are like you, Dalton. My parents wouldn’t even bother to call if they knew I was going to die. They hate me that bad.”

Dalton slid the car smoothly to a stop in front of Grace’s house but didn’t turn the car off. He pushed a button on the dashboard, and the lights went out as he heard the clink of T.A.’s seat belt being unfastened.
