Her Destiny (Shifted Love 5)

“You can say that again,” Cason rasped as he dropped onto the mattress and rolled onto his back, taking me with him while he somehow managed to keep his dick anchored in my pussy. His hand swept my hair off my shoulder as I sprawled on his chest, and his thumb brushed over my pulse point as it fluttered beneath his touch. “But it’s about to get a fuck of a lot better, baby.”

The sensual promise in his husky voice made my inner walls spasm. I knew what came next—the mating mark that would cement the bond between us. Tilting my head to the side, I whispered, “I can’t wait to feel the sting of your teeth.”

Cason’s hand trembled as he stroked over the spot where he was going to bite. “My sexy and fierce miracle.”

My heart melted at the awe in his tone. If there had been even the slightest bit of doubt in my mind about my readiness to accept his mark, it would have been wiped away. But I was just as ready to be fully mated as he was. “Please, Cason. We’ve both waited long enough. I don’t want to waste another second before our bond is cemented.”

“Neither do I.” Gripping my hips, he hauled me farther up his chest as he craned his neck until his teeth scraped against my skin. Goose bumps popped up on my flesh, and then it felt as though lightning struck when he sank his incisors in me. My connection to Cason deepened, filling a hole in my soul that had been waiting for this moment and triggering an orgasm that was more powerful than anything I’d ever felt before.

The intense pleasure he’d given me three times already paled in comparison, but my tigress still wanted more. Fur brushed against my skin as she came close to the surface, and my canines lengthened. With my mate’s cock jerking inside me, I gripped his head and twisted it to the side so I could mark him as mine. My bite brought our orgasms to a whole new level. I could barely see straight by the time it was done and he finally pulled out of me. “Whoa.”

I collapsed against Cason’s chest, curling up against him as he stroked his hand up and down my spine. “I’m so fucking happy I found you. And I’m sorry it took me a whole month to drag my ass back to Timber Ridge. If I’d figured out why my wolf was being a moody little fucker sooner, then I would’ve been here when you got into town.”

“There’s no way you could’ve known.” I rubbed my cheek against his chest, scent-marking him like I was in my animal form. “It’s not as though I figured it out either. I was living right next door to your house, and my lioness never clued me in. Although that was probably for the best or I never would’ve gotten Timber Treasures ready to open last night.”

Cason’s hand drifted down to my butt and lightly swatted my left cheek. “You know damn well that Trinity would’ve pushed back the opening date. My family would’ve done anything for me to find my mate after what happened to Aaron.”

“Sorry.” I tilted my head back and grimaced. “I’ve been focused on my career for so long. It may take some time before I figure out how to let go a little. This may surprise you, but I kind of have a reputation for being a workaholic.”

“That doesn’t surprise me at all.” He rubbed his palm over my butt, soothing the sting his spanking had left behind. “You never would’ve become a kick-ass chef if you hadn’t put a fuck ton of time into building your skills.”

I’d received plenty of compliments about my cooking before, but none of them felt as good as hearing praise coming from my mate. “How do you know I’m that good?”

Cason chuckled and shook his head. “Trinity strutted around here like she’d just guaranteed the success of Timber Treasures after she hired you, and my sister-in-law knows her shit when it comes to opening restaurants.”

“I definitely can’t argue with that logic.” I patted his six-pack abs. “But I’m still looking forward to showing you exactly how good I am in the kitchen.”

His hips rocked up when my hand slid lower. “It’s been a long time since I’ve had a really good meal.”

I jabbed my fingers into his sides before he could say anything else, going up on my elbows to glare down at him. “My food is a heck of a lot better than ‘really good.’”

“Sorry, baby. I have no doubt you’ll wow me with your cooking skills.” He cradled my cheeks in his palms, curling up to brush his lips against mine. “All I meant was that I’m no good in the kitchen, and I was stuck cooking for myself the entire time I was gone. So I was really looking forward to having dinner at Timber Treasures last night.”
