Deviants (Badlands 2)

I guess because I was David’s flesh and blood, outsiders thought I’d be spared, when that only made it worse.

My past was a heavy book I never wanted anyone to open up.

The pages were full of ugly stains and smudged fingerprints. There was still so much I hadn’t told him about.

What would he think if he knew they used to make me come? That when they realized I’d never get off with their dicks inside me they’d switch to using their mouth or hands. Sometimes, they used a sister so they could watch. Rarely was I with just one person a day. Whether I was sick, sore, or bruised to the point I couldn’t move, they used me.

It didn’t matter how many days passed or how many showers I took; I would always be that unclean, filthy little girl.

He shoved off the wall and took my face in his hands, forcing me to look up at him. “I don’t give a shit about the things in your past. That would be pretty fucking hypocritical on my end. All I care about is the gorgeous, dope ass queen in front of me right now.”

“How can you say that? Do you know how many people have seen me naked?”

“They saw you naked. They never saw you. I do. Grimm does. Shit, even Luther and Bryce do. Cobra and Arlen do, too. We fucking see you, baby.”

“Get out.” I pulled his hands off my face and looked away. “You’re going to make me cry, you poetic asshole.”

He laughed deep in his chest and sat down beside me. “Tomorrow, we’re going to leave here and find these motherfuckers one by one. I vow to you that I won’t stop until they’re all twelve feet under and David’s head is a decoration on our mantle.”

Hearing the sincerity in his words, I leaned my head on his shoulder. He lifted me up and sat me on his lap, just holding me.

We spent the night like that, talking about mundane things, simple things, things that didn’t weigh so heavy. It was uncharted territory for both of us, but it felt…nice.

He was a living nightmare feared by everyone, and I’d never felt safer than I did wrapped in his arms.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

It was the first day of our forever.

I stared down at the toothless blonde and she stared back. Her mouth looked like a hotdog that had been cooked in the microwave for too long, swollen and split in different directions.

Tiny pieces of mutilated gum and teeth littered the floor around her. My fingers danced around the handle of my knife. She screamed as I wrenched her head back as far it would go.

With time not on my side, I flipped my tactical blade out and lodged it straight through the bottom of her jaw, forcing it through the floor of her flayed mouth to the roof.

I managed to get her flailing tongue in the process, making her screams garbled.

I bent at the knees and placed my hand over her heart, letting out a contented breath. It was beating in the erratic tempo I knew all too well, fighting desperately to cling to a life that was already lost.

Beautiful crimson leaked around my blade, spilling from her mouth in a steady, rapid downpour. It pooled onto my hand and dripped onto the old linoleum floor. With her throat tilted back, blood flowed straight down, making her choke and gag.

After twisting the handle in a full circle to widen the hole, the blade slipped right out. I let her head loll and bounce off the pole.

I was still looking down at her when Janice walked into the room with Grimm on her heels. She didn’t bat an eyelid at the dead body, keeping her attention solely on my face.

“You wanted me?”

Grimm snorted in amusement at her eager tone.

“I just wanted to say you did good yesterday.”

“Oh.” Her face fell but she quickly forced a smile for my benefit.

If I hadn’t wanted to kill her before, I would have now for the simple fact that she was supposed to be Cali’s friend and she kept hoping I would fuck her. I’d sooner stick my dick down a garbage disposal.

“Thank you. I thought it may have been a tad bit overkill.”

I grinned and reached my bloody hand out. She took it and allowed me to bring her closer. What a fatal error on her end, especially when she knew better.
